If he hadn't have done that, I might have considered it damn near perfect. I'm really hoping he doesn't do something of a similar vein with BaDIK. I shouldn't have to be balls-deep in Jill to help her out of a jam (because I still think she looks like a goblin).
Jill is an elf, not a goblin !

The only thing we can say for certain about the HOTs financial situation is that Quinn desperately needs money. Beyond that nearly everything is speculative.

We see several girls concerned over the free tuition 'rumor,' but none of them specifically establish that there is no free tuition. Sage's speech in Episode 5 strongly implies the sorority doesn't pay the girls' way, but then again it implies Sage should have a decent grasp of the HOTs finances and that seems not to be the case. Heather's rant to Riona likewise suggests Quinn is doing something shady with the HOTs finances, but we don't know what.

Between scant information, DPC's penchant for twists, and the fact that Quinn is a terrible criminal mastermind, it's entirely possible that the free tuition IS actually a thing, though if so it could still take a variety of forms.

As I've been saying too often lately, it's up to Episode 6 to finally shed some light on this matter. That episode has its work cut out for it!
on how many things we would like the sixth chapter to shed some light ...

it will surely be too short

Umm...there is no "free tuition". It's just a rumor that Quinn reinforces to lure more needy (let's be honest...) victims.
Quinn: "Loose Hips, get Tips!"

"Free Tuition" is likely a scam perpetrated by Quinn to trick girls into agreeing to be prostitutes. The fact that it's a rumor is reinforced in the Quinn/Riona scene among a few other places. Someone "started" the rumor, and judging from the scene, it sounds like its probably Quinn (if not Mel and Sarah).

Apparently, the HOTS don't have enough money to pay their bills (let alone pay tuitions), thanks to Quinn blowing it on narcotics, loss of clients, and mismanagement (as revealed in Episode 5). But that's only temporary since they are only going to be able to hang on for a short time before falling behind again with the loss of revenue from losing the Alphas as clients, the possible ruining the deal with the Preps (possibly, considering the DIK interference at the party I doubt that the negotiations between Rich and Quinn become final, and I wouldn't be surprised if Tybalt doesn't end up paying the HOTs for the party after everyone evacuated) and now, thanks to screwing over Tommy (as he sees it), the loss of the DIKs for drug revenue. Quinn is screwed in Episode 6 and may need to do something desperate. Will she risk stepping up her prostitute game? I also think she's gradually losing Riona. Without her, I think Quinn is on even thinner ice.
The "free tuition" isn't a scam, per se, but probably more of a half-truth. It's not "free" in the sense that they don't have to do anything for it and simply get given it for being part of the HOTs, but it is "free" in the sense that they don't have to provide the money themselves and that doing thing for the HOTs is probably what they'd expect is required in to order to earn their keep such that the HOTs will support their tuition payments.

Of course, it's the nature of what they have to do that is the problem as neither Maya, Mona, Ashley, or even Lily will expect that this involves whoring themselves out to earn that tuition money.

Gonna have to agree to disagree on all points there, Bacchus, and I rarely disagree with you! So this is a first for me! Hehe. Isn't individualism AWESOME!

I will explain what I mean by Real Woman. To me (note the words: "to me") a Real Woman is defined as someone that makes a good long term relationship and Broken is defined as someone who is not ideal for a long term relationship (I talked about that in the thread a month or 2 ago). Nothing to do with Faults, but elements that make for a poor partner.

Quinn, by no stretch of the imagination is marrying material...unless you like prison. Heh. Absolutely NONE of the main women in the story (apart from Jill) would make a good long term relationship in my viewpoint. I didn't say Bella or Sage or Maya isn't a good person and Jill is. I said that Jill has not demonstrated codependent personality disorder, the propensity to be unfaithful, sell drugs, make a few extra bucks as a hooker, sleep around until she gets crabs...you know...the things Reasonable Men should avoid when looking for a long term partner. i.e. a Real Woman.

I think if you look around your life you will find that most people you know fall into that Jill category. You know the type: Friendly, compassionate, trustworthy, concerned for the people in their lives and the less fortunate, willing to learn from mistakes, try their best. You know...most people in the world. No one is perfect. No one. I never said that. Everyone has faults, but most aren't bad or "unsafe" people.
And I'm afraid that I am also going to have to disagree with you as well.

As someone who has worked with what you might call "broken" people in the past, I can tell you that there is absolutely nothing stopping people like Maya, Josy, Bella, Sage, and even Quinn from living happy, fulfilling lives and ones where they can find love and have a lasting relationship. Emotional and personal problems don't mean that people can't live such lives or are incapable of it, what matters is how you deal with them, cope with them, and even learn to move past them in order to become a better version of yourself. Going through that kind of thing can actually make a person stronger, whereas people like Jill who seems to have not suffered much struggle and hardship, are weaker because they don't know how to cope when things get tough.

I have known people in my life who are "friendly, compassionate, trustworthy, concerned" and so on, but these people have also been obnoxious, ocassionally self-centred, wracked with self-doubt and low confidence, and have also made bad decisions and have let me down on more than one ocassion. Yes, nobody is perfect, but perfect or even close to it does not equal "real", in my book. The idea that "reasonable men" avoid apparently damaged women for so-called "real women" is patently false because if that were true then we wouldn't have the "white knights" would we?

Men, just like women, will like who they like and love who they love. There's nothing to really suggest that men are not attracted to emotionally damaged or "dangerous" women, or that such women can't be long-term relationship material. As the saying goes, "there are 2 people in a relationship", and what matters most is the depth of felling they have for each other and what they are willing to do for each other to make the relationship work and keep it strong. If you love someone, then you'll do whatever you can for them to show them that, and they in return will do the same if they feel as strongly, and even a character like Quinn is capable of having a relationship like that.

I don't see a reason to do the whole build up with maya and/or josy only to have it all torn down like it was and not have some sort of redeemable reconciliation toward the end.

I don't expect a polyamorous relationship in that regard, but if nothing is done on that end of the story, then that entire buildup/ section of the game is pointless other than to screw with the player.

Again, it's DrPC's story, but I hope a happy ending for the mc will be available for the player in that regard. That build up of the maya story line is what hooked me into the game/vn, the event really deflated everything from there on fir me personally.

I wonder when MC goes home next episode what will he find in the envelope from his mother...
That's assuming we'll see him go home and find out what's in that letter. It would be a good cliffhanger to have him open the letter and not find out what it says until ep 7, but equally the episode could end on something before he goes home.

Maya is so sweet and adorable, I can't stay mad at her. But in my main save I chose to be just be friends with her. I don't want to be involved or caught up in the Josy-Maya-MC relationship thing. They seem to be doing well until the MC showed up.

Yeah, they were doing so well that they both decided to a pursue something with the MC and were even prepared to dump each other for him. :KEK:

Their relationship was about 5 seconds from over and the MC, in a sense, brought them back together. He might feel like a bit of a 3rd wheel right now because he's become part of an existing relationship between 2 people, but he's the glue that will hold them together and without him they'll crumble, but with him, the 3 of them will prosper. :giggle:

I think so too

the girls are still together thanks to MC's suicide, regardless if they are just friends or something more

They were until they stopped seing each other and had lack of proper communication. All they needed to do was to talk it out, once they did they started going back to where they left. You see them hanging out more, right?

Apologies, I wanted to reply to multiple posts but I'm just lazy to do it.
