I'm no expert on this but that's what they say. Unless there is a patch for ep 5 you can add to 0.4 first.

What about unpacking the update and adding it to the unpacked game?

Just use UnRen to unpack the patch also and then put it to the unpacked game from OP, this will easily solve the problem of these people.

Yeah, you can do that, the only thing is that you need to add a lot of the Ren'py operational files and folders from the main game to the patch folder as Unren needs them to unpack the contents.
