Nothing to do with STEAM or age verification system. In Germany every game requires a certification handed out by USK before a publisher or developer can sell their game.
All DPC has to do is to submit his game to USK and get his game verified. Afterwards he can sell it everywhere in Germany.

This is not only wrong in this case. Games that are not checked by the USK are simply treated like a USK 18 game. It may end on the "index" (List of media harmful to young people - enforced by the "BPjM") but even then it is technicly possible to buy it. It just means that these games may not be advertised in any media or put on display in retail stores, so noone knows if you can buy it.
In this case the blame is on steam and it's - non existant - ageverification system. Valve used the simplest way and put a regio lock on these game, so you can't even start the game in Germany. It sucks if you want to honestly buy the game, but that's how it is in Germany.

That's not quite true. For pornographic content, there is a general obligation to verify the age when selling and even for advertising it. See German Criminal Code §184, which regulates the distribution of pornographic content.
Pornographic content may not even be advertised publicly (visible in the steam store), if it cannot be ensured that this is only seen by 18+ year olds.

The same is true for Australia, which also banned the sale of adult/porn games on Steam. From what I've read, the rationale for these bans was due to legislators' belief that a platform like Steam is primarily to sell content to children. Never mind that children can just as easily type "

" into a browser as they can hunt for adult games on Steam (Valve has a "family view" feature on Steam that prevents accessing the store and any games that parents don't want their children to play).

I'm planning to buy Season 2 on Steam both to support the developer and avoid the downloading hassles. Just wondering if anybody knows if the plan is for Season 2 to be released on Steam one month after the Patreon release of Episode 8 as was the case for Season 1/Episode 4, and also whether The Complete Official Guide will be updated for Season 2 and available the same day as the game release as was the case for Season 1?
