Of course, how foolish of me to forget Mac users still need to update the Mac engine files!

I've pulled the Mac BeingADIK.app and Ren'Py 7.4.10 libraries from rpdl's original modded release of Being a DIK v0.8.0.

Mac libraries for Being a DIK v0.8: |

In theory if you copy the BeingADIK.app and lib folders into the root BeingADIK directory (where the BeingADIK.exe is), then merge the files from the unofficial Windows patch it should work. I know nothing about Mac though, and this is untested, so use at your own risk.

Make sure you keep a backup of your unpatched v0.7.1, so you can roll back to that if it doesn't work.

If it does work please let me know & I'll add it to the unofficial patch post.
Thanks for the effort. Can't test it myself unfortunately as I don't have v071 anymore.

FYI, for the location of the files, on Mac the app is the enclosing folder (apps are folders masquerading as files).
Inside the app there is a folder Contents which contains everything (see screenshot)
The file BeingADIK is the actual executable which starts the game, the equivalent of the Windows exe.
The game folder is identical to the PC version.

Anyone else have problems getting this game from MEGA?
It crashes at 4gigs every time.
Unless you have improved access to Mega the daily download max is 5 gb... You can surpass this by pausing download and continuing a day later or make an account with a higher daily max. Can't think of any more reasons why Mega should crash several times and always at a certain amount of downloaded GB (besides HDisc space ofcourse)

Can I hope for a harem ending for us harem lovers?
Unlikely, possibly a throuple but that's as far we can expect now... Last updated effectively closes down several paths if you happen to be on more then one path....

Yeah... about MEGA your daily transfer quota is 20GB ( free mode without the VPN trick and if you know when the daily reset is !!! ) every 6 hours you get 5GB :geek::LOL:

No. It's like every 5-7 hours or so.
AH, that's even better then ;) But luckily there's usually enough alternatives for reasonably fast downloads so i don't really use Mega that much.... Nopy was best though so hope one day that returns...

Riona keeps surprising me. Initially I wasn't expecting the threesome with Camila, due to only kissing Riona at the Dik party. I thought I had to do the other stuff as well from that one flowchart if I wanted to interest Riona.

And then she shows up with the LIs during the inner-thought thing. Though Sage and Bella were the only selectable ones.

This thread is unusually quiet at the moment. It's like the silence before the storm. :ROFLMAO:

If anyone is up for a discussion, I'll open up a topic. What do you guys think that the weird small mirror in Bella's bathroom is about?

I think it's a child's mirror, because it fits with my theory that the locked room is a nursery/baby room, but I also have a suspicion that it might be another of DPC's red herrings. But there's a weird detail there - the nursery/baby room is on the first floor, while Bella's bedroom is on the second floor, which is incredibly weird. Usually you'll want to make the nursery as close as possible to your own bedroom, so you can check on the baby and hear it if it starts crying.

Also putting the nursery on the first floor while your bedroom is at a considerable distance and at a different floor is a huge mistake - in case of a burglary, it's one of the first rooms that the burglar will have access to.

Some people just have small mirrors for doing things. Whether it's also a magnifier for makeup, or so they can look at the back of their head for style/fashion reasons.

The Universal Ren'Py Mod is great for modding and debugging. It isn't the best way to understand game mechanics, reading the scripts is. You can't console hack/mod the game effectively with URM or anything else if you don't know how the scripts work.
And who says I have the basics to understand the readable .rpyc script files of Ren'py games? I didn't state any of that, there was an assumption that since I want to learn there had been a study BUT it's not MY case so are there any basic python sources with associated Ren'py knowledge I can draw from (please NOT official sources)?

There isn't one. To understand how RenPy games work, you need to understand the code & engine behaviour. The only way to do that is the documentation, reading posts about RenPy development/coding, and looking at game scripts to see how devs do things. Start with some basic tutorials to understand how RenPy works.
Please could you tell me if you can something more pratical (even if you want in private) so that I can orient myself with something tangible?

Everyone, as you amply demonstrated by posting a huge list of variables you don't understand? Who do you think has time to document hundreds of variables & describe what they do? Keeping in mind most of them do nothing of interest. Only a few console hacks get posted, because only a few are useful enough to be requested. If you want to compile all the console hacks that have been posted, then go for it. Anything more complicated or specialised requires using mods, or digging around in the scripts yourself.
That's not true... everyone who doesn't work with the Ren'py engine (so outside of that business) BUT a good chunk of developers do with the """porn games""" that are covered on this forum. I mean... any good developer souls reading this and can help me out?

You previously said you already know the basics of using the console to change variables. The information you need to understand what variable to change, and how that will influence the game can only be found by understanding the scripts.
I have to roll up my sleeves up then, there is DIRTY work coming my WAY!

Explaining how to mod in any detail is well beyond the scope of a game thread. But here's a BaDIK specific example which has previously been discussed (the follow example) →
Thank you so much for all the answers you have given me...I will obviously make good use of them and keep the information that came out updated to the best of my ability!

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
That's what I was TALKING about, do you have others?

PS: You should put that variable list image inside a spoiler, it's bad practice to post an image which dominates the screen that much.
I'm still new to answering WITH responses that HAVE some sizes and lengths on the forums so I apologize...I've already fixed it!

Judging by the flashback, James was an ultra horny guy. He could've got it anytime he wanted, IMO (unless he suggested it in the library, then no, that place is sacred for Bella).

What if it's James' mirror that he uses to shave his ass? :Kappa:

I still think it's only a room with James' belongings, maybe his old office, and people will be terribly disappointed when it's just some mild stuff (for us), Bella is just hiding it to avoid whatever feelings and/or memories that brings her.

I don't think a child would be sleeping downstairs. A child (7 or younger) would have their cradle/bed in the same room as the parent.
The positioning of a mirror that low is so weird. A child would use that stool to view the bigger mirror and wouldn't need their own mirror? Maybe DPC was lazy and decided to just leave because it came in the bathroom he bought as part of the asset pack.
I'm not convinced on this child thing because there isn't enough evidence to suggest it. I'm 99% certain that James cheated and Bella kicked him out which contributed to her distrust in men. The story also heavily insinuated that as Bella fears becoming what she despises- "an adulterer." Part of her story arc is coming out of her shell caused by James cheating on her and MC is the catalyst for that.
There was no kid and I'm willing to bet my cock on that.

A tiny mirror and a step stool. The kind kids use to reach a sink.

It isn’t utterly absurd she has these things but it is strange. I too believe the big twist is going to be a child. Possibly dead… maybe it was the husbands fault indirectly (swimming pool left unattended or something) hence her saying she forgave him that one time in a monologue.

For a long time it was also my idea that Bella's "secret" was the loss of a child, something extremely personal that would explain why Jill didn't feel like talking about it and would have made sense of the closed room as well.

so it fits.

but to me it seems a huge no-sense, that a woman grieving the loss of her child would erase all traces of it in the house (including the locked room) and leave an obvious reminder in the bathroom, which is the room where every guest enters.

But it means little, the twists are usually finely chiseled with a jackhammer....

for me anything that is Bella is not a murderer is gonna be a less interesting :ROFLMAO:.
I think she killed her husband, because she lost her job, and Bella loves being a librarian, so MC better be careful not make Bella to lose an another Job:ROFLMAO:
