Hi thanks man, I normally say but my charts are based on complete renders since that’s usually the most time consuming bit. DPC said 3253 posed with 180 in the queue.

I took that to mean 3253-180=3073 already rendered.
I have now posed 3253 renders for the episode, and about 180 are in the render queue.

I thought about it this way: 3253 are already ready at this moment + 180 more in the queue.
It's hard to say who is right. Either way, you're doing a great job with these graphs.(y)

:coffee: Updated BigTable™ with the recent informations.
NineToGo!

  • Renders been increasing by around +300; animations should be again around +5 due to complexity.
    • Renders Progress: 73% > 81% | Animations Progress: 62% > 63%
    • Renders/Days ratio finally break EP8 value.
    • Highly complexe animations bottleneck the overall progress so far.
  • Historically, we should have 2 more Preview and 4 more Rooster before release.
  • Release Estimate: 32 weeks — 34 weeks. Mid to End October.

It's like seeing my grandmother naked, even though she's been dead for more than 20 years.
Please don't remind me. This one time, I picked up my nonna to bring her to her doctor's appointment. I go into the house and she yells for me to come into her room. And there she was naked and she even hugged me. I was really traumatized. I could not sleep!!!!

I just stumbled across something. Josy said in EP7 so the DIK jacket is so not her size. But she will get a DIK jacket in her size. Tommy hangs it on the wall. How?

Derek has laundry day and washed his jacket. He probably washed it too hot and it shrunk. Then he got a new one and the little old one hangs on the wall.

For Halloween, Josy gets it.:D(y)
Josy killed the look with the MC jacket anyway, and that scene, damn...

Quinn, too, for the same reasons.

My game crashes in chapter 8 after speaking to rusty while he is leaving my room my character says (He must be feeling guilty as hell.) then my game freezes and crashes anyone know any sort of fix or way i can bypas this scene.
Looks like you was using some kind of mods for "mansion restoration game".
Game crashes at some points intentionally - there is traps for modded saves.

I could be an asshole and tell you to go back and read 100 page, but today I'm gonna be generous.
Next update : Friday, 27. 10. 2023. ;)
If DPC keeps putting 50-70 people in scenes and doing 27 movements per one animation, then it may actually be 2023 before we see this damn update. Our beloved dev is turning into a size queen when it comes to updates. Larger, thicker, longer!

This week I worked on static renders and animations. I have now posed 3253 renders for the episode, and about 180 are in the render queue.

I also posed the longest animation in the episode so far; a ~1 min 19 seconds animation consisting of 27 animations. The longest animation in the game so far has been 30 seconds. Episode 9 will breach that minute mark with three animations.

Making these long animations has felt more like working with cutscenes than standard animation work. It's new to me, and I believe this is the next level for Being a DIK in this area. I can't wait to show you everything!

I'm working on the final free roam event at the moment and I will keep pushing on with the art until I need to write some of the remaining scenes.

I have a scene coming up where I will have to pose more characters than I ever did in a scene before. I haven't counted how many characters there are for this scene yet, but probably somewhere between 50-70.

It's going to be exciting and very demanding work, and also feel like it's going super-slow at times to make a single render. But I know how similar renders in this episode already turned out great, so I know these will too, and that the work is worthwhile.

Have a nice weekend

Dr PinkCake
Good news: we get numbers! Bad news: we get the less important numbers.

Good news first. DPC completed something on the order of 127 static renders this week, bringing his overall average to ~133 statics per week since the Interlude launched. We got no word on animations, so it's difficult to tell where we stand or verify if his overall average is still roughly 8.4 animations/week since the Interlude. Here are the charts as best we can tell:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
The static render rate slowed a bit this week, enough that they're endangering an October release all on their own. I'm not too worried about that, however, since statics can probably be rushed very effectively if they become the bottleneck. But it is an indication of just how much work is left. The animations remain the real worry. Last week they were on pace to complete somewhere around Christmas; admittedly, we knew that pace was unusually slow, but we didn't know just how much slower it was, nor how long the slowdown would last. Unfortunately, we still have no data on that. Without new animation numbers there's not much we can do but hope for the best while preparing for the worst.

Personally, I think it's very unlikely Episode 9 will be released before November. The remaining animation count is high, and when DPC describes the details there are a lot more "very complicated/lengthy animation" anecdotes than there are "knocking out lots of small-but-cool animation" stories. Granted, it's probably cooler to talk about the complex stuff so I accept there's going to be reporting bias, but nonetheless I don't see him averaging the 12+ animations/week (starting last week) that it would take to release before the end of October. So I'm inclined to bet the over.

Either way, let's hope we get some animation numbers next week so we can find our bearings.

always86 is correct (and as you say, is also doing a great job). The render queue is made up of statics that have been posed but are waiting for processor time to render. All completed statics have also been posed, but not all posed statics have been rendered when there's a (non-zero) queue. DPC currently has ~3073 renders completed, which is the usual metric we track.

In theory it's also the most important metric since statics will only be added to the game once they're complete. But I'm sure DPC's animation rigs could chew through the static queue in no time if the animations were finished. So in this case the difference between posed and complete statics is moot compared to the number of complete animations - which is currently unknown. :(

My favourite part of that whole scene is that before Quinn engages Arieth, she takes a deep breath. She's knows it's going to be hard work trying to discuss something with her. :ROFLMAO:

Apologies for my ignorance, but might I know what game/games these comparisons are coming from? The first and last pairs are not familiar to me.
Strange enough, the first is actually from BaDIK. Bianca is Jill's friend who she has sushi with, and Carolyn is the unofficial name for the unnamed girl who's getting spit-roasted during the dorm party. She's also the girl sitting in the mid-terms not really giving a shit. We've called her Carolyn due to the F95 member Carolyn using her face as his avatar:

1660358217556.png

And he's right, Carolyn is indeed > Bianca!

I think the last two are from Chasing Sunsets. I wouldn't know, those girls don't interest me... :p

And for the record:

Tanaka > x
