Not worth it. I don't know of a single game of this genre that even has decent voice acting. I still have nightmares about Jill's introduction when I remember her voice.
With the money he makes he could find talented VAs who are willing to work on an adult game. Especially this one, it being pretty wholesome.
I don't know about you, but I would be extremely pissed off if I'd spent tons of money hiring voice actors and found out that most players are simply playing my game with voice acting disabled.

That excerpt from the WT is about the status (there it is referred as 'mood'). But I was speaking about the affinity, which although related to the status, it is not the same. The mood or status (ranging from massive chick to massive DIK) can change quickly during the course of the game, because most decisions score points towards your chick or your DIK self. The affinity, on the other hand, changes only upon making major choices (15 in total for the first two seasons). It is the affinity of your character that influences the MC's personality and relationships the most.

There is really no problem here, just everyone chooses a dish to their liking. Well, yes, let's say Riona sucked all the dicks in this college. I see it like this - Fuckface will ask her - "Whose was the most delicious ?" She will answer - "Of course yours, buddy". And they will both feel happier.
Regarding of your original comment, about the Neutral Affinity differences, I understand that DPC didn't wanted to add a 3 variation for every conversation, but I think it could have been more trasnparent if the Neutral MC's personality would have been determend by how many Dik or Chick major choices he made.
Most AVNs with voice acting don't deliver in that front. The VA in those is usually subpar. In this same game, did you hear Jill's voice during the warning message the first time you ran the game? It's horrible, simply put.
Well if you use the money you have you definetly could find and hire professional voice actors... Not really an argument talking about that very early voice acting experiment.
Dude, get your head out of the clouds and back down to earth. The cast of Being a DIK is quite diverse, hiring perfect voice actors for all the characters would be a challenge even for a large company like Rockstar.

If you have more Chick choices You get the Chick variation of the conversation, and if you have more Dik, you get the Dik personality.
If you're satisfied with what you get - fine by me. I would always aim for something more if the patrons support me that much. And I also added "If not for all the lines then at least for sex scenes.". Something like moaning would add so much and now pls don't tell me it would be hard to cast female voice actors for that. The Genesis Order has like 2 different voices that uses different pitches/layers and for THAT it is quite good... But if you don't even try to add something new and spicy to your game then I ask myself what you're aiming for to get better and offer something more?
Hiring high quality professional voice actors for so many dialogues is a huge amount of money and even with DPC's high incomes I don't think he can pay for it. We are talking about hundreds of thousands dollars, maybe even a million.
My main focus on the original comment have been the sex scenes, not ALL of the lines. But even there you could find a compromise in just adding SOME voice lines to add something fresh to the main characters. Main Focus to me would be enhancing the sex scenes...
Well, yes, that's a good point, but getting accredited professionals can't come cheap. It may not pay off.
There we just have completely different opinions. As an artist I would ALWAYS aim for something more to ensure the best and most immersive experience for my patrons. But maybe thats just me.Never change a winning team, young padawan.
