Derek is an idiot on the counts that he dips his wick in crazy. Drinks far too much. Is lazy. A hedonist and acts with out caution. But he doesn't lack intelligence. Consider the family he comes from - They are pretty smart folk. So, everything Maya was taught at an early age... Derek was too. The problem he has is that he always takes the path of least resistance.
He could easily do all the work legit. He is a fool, but he is not stupid.
You can be smart and dumb at the same time. Derek is apparently smart when it comes to his grades, but he's just plain stupid as a person.
I always thought Quinn was responsible for the Cathy incident. She knew that Tommy wanted the DIK presidency and this was a way to remove Rusty from the presidency. There is a scene in the game where Tommy and Quinn talk about this, about Tommy wanting the presidency of the DIKS and Quinn wanting the HOTs.

Go back to when the DIK's return home from the prep party and talk inside their trashed mansion and then check Tommy's reaction to having no more money and having to work. Vinnie had to get the DIK's a) dependent on (his) money and b) with a president that he can buy with drugs.
Removing Rusty does both.
Aaaaah! Now I get it, it actually makes sense. It would be a free pass for Vinny to sell drugs among the DIKs. My fear is the Cathy incident is just a red herring. For example, just being a prank made by nerds during their Hell Week and having nothing to do with Vinny, Nick, Burke, or Quinn.

Aye and not just among the DIK's he could use the DIK Mansion, which still is owned by a Burgmeister, to supply the entire college and I don't have to tell you how much money that is.
That's why he had Quinn jumped, so that he eventually has B&R all to himself.
All this drug talk has me believing the MC will be dragged into Quinn and Vinny's feud whether he likes it or not. I don't know how I feel about it, honestly. It wasn't what I had in mind when I decided to play a game about college boys. I hope I don't regret giving this game a chance.

I think DPC is sensitive to it too. He didn't let the MC touch anything except weed and I don't see that changing...ever. And think about it, wouldn't it be cool if there was a chance that you could get Quinn and Rio out of that life ?
That's one of my hopes, but Quinn doesn't accept CHICK MC's help. Again, bad memories... Apparently, I can't save who I want even in a simple game. That scene with Tommy and Quinn sharing a syringe really got to me. I thought the idea was dropped since the syringe wasn't mentioned anymore, but in Ep.9 it reappeared. I hope Quinn changes her mind about the CHICK MC;

Yeah, I know. I didn't question it.
My point was for fact, that somebody touched/played with cube, and since it changed position only after Vinny's visit, most of the facts point to him. I wonder why didn't he just take it with him or, more simply, didn't steal it.
