also in my opinion Maya and Josy's run was rather disappointing in this chapter. tommy's reaction is as coarse as could be expected and the troupe's cover story creates a completely artificial situation. is this really a problem for Maya and Josy? Josy first proposes and then complains about it, Maya surely has other thoughts than being considered a lewd girl...Maya and Josy’s path was underwhelming for me this episode, Tommy confrontation was wimpy (they should have fought MC with swollen eye again in tense situation with him, but by the end of the episode both of them realising that his sister is better with MC than other shmuck and at the camping party got to a better relation, had a shroom etc.), M&J content wasn’t MEMORABLE just dare dare dare, and there is a problem where we the ones in relationship with Maya and Josy get the shortest content as other paths play their content and get to enjoy Maya and Josy content too because are part of the main plot (minus the lewd scenes), so we kind of drew the short straw this episode. DPC need to be aware of this misstep as they are major characters and finished underwhelming (relationship wise DPC felt uninspired, like he didn’t knew what to do with them, to me they are canon carry the main plot since season 1 a lot more attention and creativity was needed). In my opinion they needed one extra scene to actually find out more about them (something meaningful, memorable, emotional that the other characters got like dating Sage, TV with Bella, dating Nicole they were all masterpieces), to know them better as we were left with nothing really. For those that will criticise that we already got those moments on the friday event, that content was for all, you can be DIK affinity and get the same text, I’m talking about MC in RELATIONSHIP, why Josy is ashamed by the picture if MC is already her boyfriend? that scene was intended for Others path my guess, probably in the future MC with DIK affinity can still get her as she still has a crush on him. Please don’t take this opinion as me hating DPC or wanting to throw dirt at him to stain his reputation, I understand he is one guy, some content can be hit and miss, just hope in the next episode he will compensate for this somehow, these 2 girls deserve it.
Structurally speaking the game seems built on the Maya and Josy’s path that acts as a framework and the other characters are attached to it. If the current structure stays the same and DPC will be a one-man band it worries me that the underwhelming thing will persist as the framework with some parts will be more appetizing than the framework alone. Now the second thing is the can of worms called relationships, on paper the 5 major characters that we are in a relationship with would be considered quality content, and the secondary characters quantity content. On paper, quality should be better than quantity but the way I see executed in the game so far, some scenes from secondary chars are more wholesome and better written than that of major characters scenes. So to compensate the major characters should receive more scenes but being one man band and taking a year to develop DPC will not do that. The only solution will be to either hire help or take more time to develop.
I didn't like at all that it's Derek who explains us Helen's situation anyway, ok it's a private matter, but the day before we meet her it should be Maya who wants to explain us the situation.
the scene in the library is nice, because it's true enough, but it's not that it's particularly brilliant.
the double date with Maya and Josy are two good segments, but we have to choose another time. there is very little trouple in this trouple run
at the end of the day the most interesting aspect of the whole chapter is the fact that Maya confesses that she feels more comfortable with MC than with Josy (the blameless Josy), which is a total novelty and also opens up to the " solo Maya" in the aftermath of the trouple breakup. i.e. the most interesting thing about the run is a hint of the run's failure: good but not great.
