If this were a canon scene for every girl no matter what, then maybe I'd consider Madame to be someone actually important like Priscilla (although her importance is still just speculation).

I'd be more inclined to think the Madame was there at the restaurant as a subtle joke where she hides her face if she's carried on with the mc in the club, and she doesn't care if she's never met him, and there's literally nothing more to it.

That's the kind of cool, but unimportant shit DPC used to do (and maybe still does, I'll have to start paying attention again); like the bruised professor if you get that dude to join the chess club or whatever, the articles in the paper that Tybalt was holding changing depending on whatever, Derek requiring crab control or not, telling Quinn you want your pet name to be "pervert", liking Tybalt's posts, and so on. None of that shit was even remotely important, but it added a little extra to the game (and it didn't take a month to render... ).

So it's probably more likely she's just the old hag that you can play with in the VIP lounge and there's nothing more to her story. In which case, I'll always forfeit the VIP pass.

Normally I'd agree with you, but the difference between this small thing with Madame and all those other pretty insignificant details is that those are for real characters. Take away these tiny variations and there's still plenty to them. Even the chess club example, that's for the minorest of minor characters (fat dorm guy) and a recurring side character (Mr. Hoff), but they still have a teensy bit more going on than Madame, who has jackshit.

Okay maybe that last part was somewhat hyperbolic, but come on. At least fat dorm guy has 3 interactions: give him soda in Episode 1, yes or no to chess club in Episode 4, and he's in one of the dorms during the party in Episode 8 if he didn't join the chess club. And Hoff is involved in the cheat sheet subplot, which is an actual bit of substance.
