But I still don't understand this decision from a business point of view. There will be a lot of high-profile novelties at the beginning of the year and its release will be simply unnoticeable against the background of these novelties. The last time it was released on Steam it became popular largely because it had no competition among the big games.

I'm leaning more towards a contract with a band or even a whole label.
Second option. He has a deal with an artist who will create assets for him. He won't influence the work, just do 3d models for him to his specifications. For example, DPC says that he needs a certain model of a bus for a trip out of town, and those that are available in the DAZ store do not suit him.
Third option. He has found an investor for his game. I do not know why and how, but someone will help him with money and he will no longer depend on patreon.

On the other hand, he said it's exciting news, including for him.
He could have announced it mundanely in a status update.

I hope so to, I am planning travelling for a month but I need to know the time of release so I know if I had to do the travel before the release date or after the game came out for a week. So Better Cock Spock DPC if you are listening I hope you post the release date so I can plan my travel

Let's say he lives on 100k a year. with the S&P 500 10-year average return (10.99%), he needed to invest: 100k/10.99%-4%~1.4mil, and this is just a rough calculation following the 4%-rule. If he lives on less, he needs less.
Now, we just need to figure out how much money he has made so far.

I’ll give 20-1 on this. I’m not sure he’d make a big announcement of it, but it may be something that he does in the future.

I’d be very surprised if it’s anyone beyond a little known amateur group.

Presuming 11 releases March, so the Steam would be April/ May I don’t think there would be to much issue with this. He may be thinking that with a 15 month development time it will take until June 2026 for episode 12. He may be thinking that 4.5 years is too long and better to keep the hype on steam. Also worth remembering the amount of content will be comparable to S1 or S2 with only 3.5 episodes.

3D artist is a good idea, I’ll give you 10-1 for that. He’s probably a bit to self important to give up any creative control though.

I think the investor is possible, but would only really make sense if it were to actually form some sort of studio, otherwise not sure the value DPC would gain.

In episode 10 we had multiple exclusive events depending on path/branch: Meeting Jill's parents, dinner and cinema with Sage, hangout with Isabella, hangout with Josy or with Maya.

I think there are going to be 2 or 3 exclusive/unique events depen ding on path. Winter holiday with Jill,Isabella & Bianca and something else for Sage, Josy and Maya. That preview with Josy is on the lake MC visits with Jill in episode 8.

Episode 10 didnt feel big at all to me, it was rather wide, I hope he figured out how to solve this problem with episode 11.

The episode 11 preview with Josy and MC at a frozen lake looks wonky. Like they are superimposed on the background. The contrast between the characters and the background are too sharp. Clothes aren't really something DPC does well. Josie's hat makes her look like Megamind.
