If you play the game without interacting with them, you'll see that the MC is pretty indifferent to them, like zero fucks (there is very little canonical interaction between the MC and the dorm girls).
It's the classic case of the girls talking about the popular guy, but the popular guy doesn't even know their names. In EP.8 we see how flattered Penny is when the MC manages to remember her name. Even the dorm girls know that they are at the bottom of the MC's food chain.

My first ever playthrough was without minigames, afterwards i kinda thought that you get better results with minigames (it was mostly about being able to "win" against caleb but wasnt even needed for that lol).
And all my 20+ playthroughs afterwards were with minigames enabled.
Some are okayish or even decentish, i like the party planning and mansion repair somewhat, liked brawler in the beginning too but meh.
A few days ago i did another playthrough without minigames and realised HOW MUCH MORE FUN it is without all of these annoying, repetitive, shitty low effort minigames

I can't take the girls in the dorm seriously. Penny and Tara had potential, but now she's just comic relief along with Becky and the others whose names I can't even remember.
I have to give credit to the DPC though. The girls in the dorm make the BaDIK universe more alive, considering that these are the girls the DIKs sleep with. It would be weird if only the MC had sex in the game.
It's because a VN should be about reading the text and making choiches that happen to put the player into one of several branches.
And once one playthrough is finished, most of the players want to explore other branches too.
Ren'Py is the perfect engine for VN: it is precisely designed to let you skip already seen text in order to play different branches focusing only on new contents.
Exploring a big mansion, could be fun the first time. From the second onward is just a bunch of forced clicks chore. Boring.

Besides in a VN which is this big, after years my memory just need a refreshment.
I would like to be able to spend my time just to read the plot to refresh my memory, and it could be done much faster if I wasn't forced to find the fucking kegs every fucking single time!
The kegs are just an example, of course.
This VN calls for being played multiple times and free roams are fun (or may be fun) just the first time.

Plus the fact that the order in which you accomplish the various quest could result in missing some content, is just obnoxious.

True. But it would be nice if there were some more "normal" girls too that didn't do things like take a snorkel up their ass. It's a bit weird that all girls at that school do crazy stuff.

Hard to say... I haven't played all the routes if that's what you're asking. I don't have the patience. After EP.8 I picked the route I liked the most and stuck with it ever since. I play to have fun, doing all the paths and seeing all the cutscenes isn't fun for me, it's just tiring.
When Tara debuted in EP.8 (the scene where she's talking to Leon and she sees MC for the first time and glares at him) I thought Tara was the dorm version of MC.
I thought she was the de-facto leader of the dorm girls in the same way MC was the de-facto leader of the DIKs. I was hyped for nothing, I thought we would have a female villain but then she turned out to be just a dumb blonde.
