Railroaded love interests, shit quality renders, 3 or 4 paths. It was nothing but a stepping stone and learning step for DPC.

because its a better STORY and because of that it literally changed the whole scene for AVNs. AL showed that somebody with passion and talent and drive can tell a good story with characters you care about even in a game with lewd scenes, and that they can do it in a reasonable time and on a budget.

BaDIK is now one of a plethora of games that are bloated beyond belief, have insane dev cycles for comparatively small progress per update, and that conveniently coincides with making an assload of money on Patreon due to the pay structure. it may have higher production quality in the visuals and in some characters, but its not unique in the same way that AL was.

AL while it was good in terms of story telling perspective, it was super heavy handed in the drama. Lets not forget to mention he torched some love interests, made another one a psychopath and punished you harshly if you decide to fuck around even if you weren't dating.

Furthermore, there wasn't a lot of branching, there was the Main Girl, Mel, Rena and the Psychopath.
While BAD has the Main Girls Path with additional branches if you cheated on those girls and then the other paths that will soon have more branches and taking the romance paths.

Its massive and while I appreciate such expansion, DPC doesn't know the limits and is doing a team's worth of work.
Like he has the 3 girls at the christmas party, expanded Tara's Lore, Carla, Bianca and now Cinderella like broooo.

Just because it was the pioneer in the genre doesn't make it better, it just makes it a pioneer. And I do appreciate that he made that game before and learnt valuable lessons on story writing, branching, not railroading without Player's choice.

The episode that moved almost all relationships to the next level, had Zoey finally make her move, had multiple reveals to game long mysteries including ending the almost universally despised loan situation, the DIKs imploding, Tommy and Heather breaking up, the Masked girl from the Halloween party reveal, Sally, new hoes, Bianca route seeds, Quinn hitting rock bottom and probably going to the point of no return, ending with Bella's locked door finally getting opened...its somewhat called an episode where nothing happened and the plot is moving at snails pace.

I swear, people complain to complain at this point.

So many fan theories came true. Episode was full of comedy, suspense and thriller. It was like a full package.
