Also quite odd imo that Cathy was both a math and english teacher on a university level. It's of course possible that she's highly educated in both, but usually you teach either 1 or the other at such a high level.

I guess 3 years is in that sweet spot where James is most certainly dead/never coming back, but Bella can still cling to the possibility, no matter how faint, for just a little longer.If only her husband had been missing for 7+ years, than just about every jurisdiction would consider him presumed dead and she'd no longer be married. But I'm guessing it's only been a few years for a specific reason, story-wise.
The teacher thing is a whole different ball game. But once he's done English and the other optional course he has with her (research methodologies?) then she's no longer his teacher again and just a librarian.
Odd she's the only one that can teach the course though, and Cathy was the only English teacher at the school. If she was unavailable for whatever reason then the required English course and optional research course would have been scrapped?
MC and Bella would be smart to still wait before disclosing the relationship, because they would be suspected of being together while she was his teacher. It's like a 40 year old celebrity marrying a girl the minute she turns 18, there's no way you can believe nothing happened before that.
I'm sure classes would've been suspended until a temp could be found, if Bella weren't already working there and fully qualified.

She was right, but MC didn't know that at the time and doesn't take away the importance of his friendship with Zoey in MC's eyes. Even if you reject her, MC is still going to want to do everything he can to help her get through this because you know DPC can never have enough drama going on, and we're still due for MC's existential choice crisis this season.Maya is slowly but surely getting her shit together, but Josy is unraveling, and is now the biggest threat to the throuple's success. So even if MC did manage to convince Neil, I don't think Josy's problems would go away.
As for Bella, there's still the small details of her being married on paper and being MC's teacher. I think for Neil, that would unfortunately override his usual advice of "follow your heart" (like on the throuple path). And you meant "has no children yet
Sage was right though, Zoey was lying in wait and ready to pounce. She didn't want to be "just friends" anymore. Sage and Jill trust MC, but like Sage said, "she doesn't trust her."
Yeah, the "safest" route in this case would have been to disclose the relationship as soon as they realized Bella was his new teacher. But since they were nowhere near a full on relationship, it's a lot more complicated. For real or perceived conflicts of interest, the sooner it's disclosed the better but it's never black and white in a case like this. At best they'd only be able to disclose they are sort of involved but not exclusive or officially dating yet?
Now that Nick has blabbed once about Bella/MC, who's to say he won't tell more people? With his bridge burning with the DIKs I'd be surprised if he doesn't go talking to everyone about it just to hurt the DIKs now.

Lily, Mona, Cindy, Sage, Jill were my old top 5, but I have to now increase it too a top 8. Mona will probably end up dropping out. But Mel, Tiff and Carla have all moved into my top 8.
Lily is always #1, but the others keep moving around.
