Idk about that, but like you said it comes down to preference. It probably would've helped to just have a different VA, but of course that likely would've been too expensive for him back then.

Voice acting in general is something that shouldn't be attempted unless you've got the money to pay for quality. I know DPC isn't opposed to the idea for adding voices to the remake/remaster.

I always imagined Bella's voice as deep, though I haven't given this much thought. Jill's high but not as high as Josy's. Sage's a bit deeper than Maya's but both significantly higher than Bella's.

In general I tend to imagine significantly older characters as having deeper voices than younger ones.

The saves used to be compatible (not the persistent file, but the game saves themselves), but that doesn't seem to be true anymore.

Personally I think Jill's voice actress did fine but just didn't match the character.

-Bella: Mature woman voice
-Jill: Current voice or maybe a slightly lower pitch
-Josy: Definitely a higher pitch voice
-Sage: Oh this is a hard one, not that high and not that low
-Maya: Slightly lower pitch as well.

I believe it's just DPC not realizing or testing how voices should match characters

Nick's moment of truth will be him seeing what happened to Riona. If he still refuses to cut ties with Vinny after than he is beyond redemption.

The fight could have just been Nick against Tommy, but then he started digging his own grave. Instead of owning up to doing something wrong he started accusing everyone of hypocrisy. Who would defend someone after that? But even so it was simply a fight that got nasty. Bad, but fixable.

The only actually suspicious part was him refusing to explain what he was doing with the laptop. I doubt he had anything to do with the Cathy cluck other than unwittingly giving the actual culprit an opening and that only if the laptop was actually used for it instead of the nerds simply hacking the DIK's account. The question still needs an answer though. What was he doing with the laptop?

Then there is the reason he stayed with the DIKs instead of leaving with Vinny. Nick could simply be an unlucky idiot who made some pretty bad mistakes, but if he had stuck around just so that when Tommy and Heather finally broke up he'd have chance to swoop in, he was never a brother in the first place.

A lot depends on these unknown pieces of information, but personally I'd like him to just be an asshole. Why? Because Heather's story would be more satisfying. Heather realising that Nick was an even bigger mistake than Tommy would be an excellent reason for her to run into arms of the only guy who has actually been nice to her. Provided of course that MC has been nice to her. Scene also available as a threesome on Sage's path.

On a tangent, is anyone else hoping that Arieth's baby turns out to be Nick's?

I believe that Nick lashed out because he just happened to be a convenient scapegoat for the Cathy cluck, when really, as you said, it was more a case of him being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and he thought the guys would see that, but instead, Tommy blaming him as a result of him being angry and no one vouching for him blew the lid off of a boiling pot.

Anyone that plays AVNs in windowed mode is a disgraceful freak.

That seemed to be the setup from the start. The only thing he really did "wrong" was fuck Heather but I'd have done the same. Fuck Tommy. Biggest man whore in the world, completely ignores her most of the time and then he cries because someone fucked her. He's not that great with cause and effect or being a good frat brother.

I would definitely explore the "redemption" path. The thing folks seem to hate is that he spilled some stuff told in confidence. But he didn't like, just do it in passing. He was under extreme duress and I'm sure he saw it as a life line at the moment. A way to shift some of the mountain of blame off himself.

Exactly. Everyone seems to forget that Tommy is a selfish prick most of the time, and nobody's really bothered to hold him accountable for his actions. In no way does that excuse what Nick did, but with Heather's frustrations towards Tommy, you can't say he didn't have it coming.

If I remember correctly, DPC tried voice acting in an old version of BADIK (I heard about it on this same forum, if I'm not mistaken).

But I agree that it only works if it's done with quality. I think of a specific AVN who achieved good results in this area, but I don't know if I can mention it here without having the post deleted.
