It's not unrealistic at all. Given enough time it's possible to get it. Although I don't know if the length of hair she had at the the time would be long enough for it.The only one that is perfect is the one from the free roam after Chad's fight. The one from the Halloween party is kinda unrealistic if you ask me

That's why I say that. It's way too short for her to have those curls and bun. It's not like, say, Bella. When she ties her hair, I take no notice as to whether it's "possible" or not" because it's more believable/"real"

Unless he's going to do a Pearl Harbor (if I remember the movie correctly): coming home after being assumed KIA for a time. Only difference being that this time she doesn't do it with your best friend. Unless DPC comes again with a small world twist and we find out that James and Neil are/were friends or something.
