She could handle it better yes, but you can't just expect her to get over it that quickly. They weren't together for that long but it hasn't been that long since the break up either. And you can't expect someone who was in love with you to still want to be friends.
I'd actually take offense if someone moved on that quickly from a brief but intense infatuation.
