To be fair, to get maximum use out of it you do have to try to predict what nicknames your players are most likely to give and write sentences that grammatically fit that. A good example is Jade: in at least the scene where you fuck her on camera(I don't usually prefer her beyond that so I don't remember if this applies to her other scenes too) she often phrases things weirdly. "Yes, yes, cum for Jade!" and things like that. It seems pretty obvious DPC was expecting a lot of people to write "mommy" there, so I'm sure anyone who did probably didn't notice how weird it comes across if you just left her name as is.

Jade explicitly has a built-in pet name though, so it makes sense for her. Plus even if you don't use it, I haven't had a problem with "cum for Jade" and other similar phrasings, feels kinda like a power thing, referring to herself in the third person.

In any case, the grammar shouldn't really be something to worry too much about when designing the pet name system. If there were only pre-made ones, then sure.
