There's a walkthrough on the first page for the specifics. They rejected you because either you've got too many DIK points or didn't sleep with Josy after the date and spend the night with Maya at some point (instead going to Quinn)

Maya and Josy reject you if you have DIK affinity (too many major DIK decisions, like party without limits, smoke the weed e t.c.). Other factors don't come into play here.
The fact if you've had sex with them both will matter later, when you come back with them to the dorm. If you didn't have sex with both, you'll be forced to choose one to sleep with. If you had sex with both, you can choose to sleep on the floor, which would end up in them pushing beds together and you sleeping with them both.
