Why Sally was there:

Occam's Razor Reason: Many DIK parties are open house. A lot of randoms show up from time to time (e.g. the cafeteria lady in the first one) and Sally, like those others, were just there for some fun.

Conspiracy Reason: We also don't know whether Magnar was there or not. The MC did not get to free roam at this particular event. It was either go back to Maya, go dance with Sage or go get the "Special" from Sarah. While Sally was upstairs stealing phones, Magnar could also easily be in the basement doing a Bruce Wayne (BvS), hacking passwords and planting a backdoor in the DIK's server/router. Only, instead of finding files on meta-humans, he only found folders and folders of Arieth ...until now of course, where the opportunity to strike with the Cathy tweet came up

Real Reason: Sally is stalking us. It's secret love, I tell you. You heard it here first

I mean there are so many theories about that Leaked Cathy pic its been discusses so much that anything is possible almost at this point...

I don't mean it as the MC should be a total asshole to them, more like he is feed up with the whole secret, lying bs and simply don't want a close friendship cause the trust isn't there anymore, so they go simply to acquaintances, no reason to cut them out, which would be hard with setting.
Why would it be the act of a sullen child if he decides that he don't want a friendship with them if can't trust them anylonger ? and he knows them for how long 2-3 weeks. At least in my book, trust is must in a friendship and after all that it wouldn't be there anymore and it would take a long time to regain it.

It seems that our disagreement is due to a different view of friendship. Among my friends, I also have people to whom I would not entrust my secret or life. We can still be friends, even if only fair-weather.

Personally I think it's unlikely the nerds have anything to do with it. The laptop wasn't gone for long. Anyone who knew how to use the rooster app could've done it, which makes it more likely that it's someone at the party and not a nerd. It's more likely that it's someone like Quinn. She was being secretive. Whether it had something to do with proving herself to the jocks for some reason I dunno.

We saw a lot of Quinn, do you seriously see she will sit, call Chad, then have a phone sex with him? All the while being passive? No, absolutely not.

My take on Quinn is that she's adept at manipulation and power plays and rarely is bothered by the paths necessary to get what she wants... having a genuine interest in Chad? Hell no. Being willing to manipulate Chad as a backhanded route for future manipulation of Sage? Hell yes, I believe she's capable.

*Note- Also considering the fact that Chad is apparently incredibly sexually impotent Quinn wouldn't really have had to get her hands dirty with him to manipulate him... and who said anything about imagining her as being passive? Quinn seems like the kind of girl who could seriously multitask by doing her homework/prostitution scheming while "having phone sex" because she's great at acting and focusing on important details while tons of shit happens in the background.
