Nonsense. Vinny is Quinn's dealer. His drug business was why he was thrown out of the DIKs and later from B&R.
That's another option. I said before today that Quinn's dealer should be someone we know at this point in the story. Vinny makes a lot more sense than Burke.

I went back to try both versions for Josy, and here's how the dialogue differs on both the friend and rejection versions:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
So not much of a difference, really, it's mostly all the same.

Also interesting to note is that when using the scrappy mod to change from "in a relationship with M&J" to "not in a relationship with M&J", it gives the dialogue version as if they rejected the MC, regardless of the affinity you currently have.
Do you happen to have Maya's dialogues on the two friend routes?
So, here's the latest random minor detail I noticed when I played through the game again. (Since it's been a week now, I will not hide Episode 5 spoilers, and they are fairly minor.)

On Sunday morning Derek posts his cluck about surviving Hell Week, and most of the HOTs reply to congratulate him and the MC. This includes Mona (last mentioned opting out of Quinn's free tuition deal), but does not include Ashley (last seen being comforted by Elena).

To me, this suggests that Mona is still planning on being a HOT and is not too traumatized by whatever happened with Stephen. I'm not sure what it implies about Ashley. Maybe I'm overthinking things and she just slept in?
Making sure we help our Bro get his girl in the end is the most important plot point for me now.
It sounds like I'm in the minority in that so far Bella is the only main LI I have no interest in as as a lover. She's gorgeous and sexy, sure, but between her obvious hangups and the fact she's such a hoot as a grumpy surrogate sister, I am more than ready for the MC to be 'just friends' with her.
Exactly how I feel.

I'm surprised Maya and Josy can have a relationship with each other with their lack of honesty and truth.
They only knew about the relationship MC had with the other when MC showed Maya a picture of him and Josy. They had days to tell one another.

Rusty was just starting college in that flashback.
Jill has said she's a 3rd year.
The DIKs have only been around for 2 years.

Therefore, Rusty is a 3rd year.
Is this timeline consistent with the maggot cycles?

0 : Rusty and Tommy founded the DIKs.

0 : Nick and Vinny were the first maggots in the same year.
(Nick : "Vinny and I were the first maggots to join the DIKs the year Rusty and Tommy started it.")

1 : Jamie and Leon are Maggot brothers.

2 : Jacob and John Boy were maggot brothers last year.
(Jacob : "Yeah, last year. Me and John Boy were maggot brothers.")

3 : Derek and mc are maggot brothers this year.

The CUM-petition is ... annual.
(Tommy : "It's time for the annual ... CUM-petition!")

If the maggots are accepted only once a year, the DIKs were founded 3 years ago.

When reading the dialogs between Maya, Josy and mc, I had the impression that - caused by the disadvantageous circumstances in the last months and especially the last week - their relation was broken up and both had turned towards the mc. When Josy arrived at B&R and mc ran away there was no reason to confess since circumstances had changed and confessing probably would have made the renewal of the relation more difficult without benefit.

man, the way things are going, I'm thinking that Tommy will be the main villain and will try to sabotage the mc and his trajectory as the future leader of the dik's,
Him and Quinn try something.
predict Tommy trying to sabotage the mc and if you are on the sage or maya route (you may have noticed that Quinn makes bullying with Maya telling her to do things she doesn't like)
I think that only works on the DIK side and you’re with Sage because DIK Affinity/Or Josy relationship.

If MC is on the DIK side, then happy ending with Sage* or then chick on the side of M/J, Jill or bella.

*:MC is DIK president and Sage are HOT.

Since ep2, Maya, is portrayed as the vulnerable sweet little thing the MC is supposed to protect and comfort all the time. Quinn bullies her, Sarah and Melanie mock her, she has a shitty relationship with her father, she must hide her relationship with Josy, she worries about Derek's cheating, she can't deal with the pledges sexual list, she's insecure with the MC because she never felt attracted to a boy before and the list goes on...

I mean she basically spent the whole episode 4 crying and trying to apologise and AGAIN in ep5 the MC has to comfort her because she felt jealous over the fatherly love Josy received from her father. It feels like the MC has to be the "Ken Doll". We don't really see new sides of her character and she clearly lacks moments when she genuinely bonds with the MC and actually offer real support in return.

By comparison, Sage is introduced as the typicall Girl Posse but she has shown hidden depths. The relationship feels more balanced and organic not only because they are actually bonding on several points (guitar lessons, sex-games, mutual dislike of Dawe, romantic issues...) but also because they comfort and support each other. The MC gave her the affection and the attention chad didn't provide and act like a confidant. On her side, Sage spent the whole ep4 helping and warming the MC up. She's more equal and far less needy. Even the whole fuck buddy things become more and more tender and romantic, showing a real progression.

Same thing for Bella and Jill. They share more activities ( Tennis, Yoga, music, cooking, real dates...) and the MC has to be more mature and subtle with them. They have vulnerable side but the MC doesn't have to act like a big brother figure (actually it's the opposite). Their past and connection is also more intriguing.

The fact Maya has to share his plot with Josy don't help either.
Amazing take, I started the game as Maya fan and EP3 reveal crushed my dreams. Then Sage route happened and it was the best moments ever and EP4's abysmal ending convinced me to give up on Maya. Now Sage is best girl followed by Jill.
Good analysis. Sage, Bella and Jill definitely feel like more balanced & stronger characters than Maya (and Josy too tbh) who just don't offer anything apart from being needy and their rather shallow relationship that came out of nowhere.

I'm especially surprised by Sage who definitely seemed to be the most generic girl in the first episode but now she is one of my favourites. Her relationship with the MC has been handled the best so far, it feels more realistic and has good progression.
Agreed. Sage is by far the best developed route so far. This EP5 was also good addition to both her and Jill's development.

I don't have the exact lines but ;
MC comforts Maya after she gets emotional seeing Josy's dad being there for Josy, She is jealous because her dad is not like Josy's dad. MC says he would be with her if she was starting into a new university. He would be there for her to help at any time. Then Maya gets emotional and calls the MC a girl, as a biggest compliment she can give since she likes girls. She gets more emotional about stuff and kinda regrets about leaving MC in library last night.

I was still angry so in my first time I just skipped Josy's request to help her with the dad. Later I wanted to see if any Maya scenes will happen from that route so I took it. Honestly when you broke up with them then help Josy about her dad, the two scenes you get(when you choose Josy or Maya to console) with them are very emotional. Get the scrappy cheat mod to edit your save file if you wanna see it, it is pretty easy to modify.

After the first two episodes, I liked Maya. Now she is completely indifferent to her. Constantly wiping snot and walking in a circle.
Now I think it's a pity that Lily is not the main girl.
Same, she used to be my favourite even (her and Bella). Now she is easily my least favourite, I would prefer Camila as the main girl

True, the reveal dragged down her character and her behaviour after it made it even worse. At this point I Just hope there are no "reveals" like this for Sage, Jill & Bella lol.

I saw both their scenes, I think Josy's was better. She seemed to still have feelings for the MC and was more emotional.

yeah, the moral of the story is that Maya after 5 episodes still doesn't know what she wants.
Idk where is Pink going with her story but it is getting more and more tireing with each episode.
Although we have been around this game for over a year, keep in mind that in real time it's only been 2 weeks for the characters, not having your clear ideas in just 2 weeks seems pretty logical

The CUM-petition is ... annual.
(Tommy : "It's time for the annual ... CUM-petition!")

If the maggots are accepted only once a year, the DIKs were founded 3 years ago.
Assuming that maggots are only ever accepted in twos. It just so happens that only 2 (the MC and Derek) became maggots this year, but I don't remember it being explicitly stated that they don't accept more than that per year.

Nick and Vinny were the first to join, but do we know for sure that Jamie and Leon joined the following year? They didn't join the same year as Nick and Vinny? And if they did join the following year, how do we know that wasn't the same year as Jacob and John Boy? To the best of my recollection, we don't know when Jamie and Leon joined.

Furthermore, when Maya shows the MC around campus, she mentions that the DIKs have only been around for "a couple of years" and "couple" means 2. In ep 4 Sage tells the MC (if you stay with her) she'll be be graduating soon and we know from the ep 5 flashback that she was the HOT president when she met Rusty, which is not a position that a freshman would get, so she must've been at least a 2nd year back then. We also know that Jill is a 3rd year which would make her a 1st year when she met Rusty.

The cum-petition can also still be an annual event even if this is only the 2nd time it's been repeated. We don't know how far Rusty, Tommy, Vinny, and Nick got in setting up the DIKs that first year, but let's say that they got the house "decorated", became an official frat, and set up their pledge board, then they could have accepted pledgers that first year and put them through the cum-petition. This might have been Jamie and Leon or some other characters who didn't make it as DIKs. Then the following year, Jacob and John-Boy went throught it and possibly Jamie and Leon as well, thus when the MC and Derek tke part, it has become an annual event because this is the 3rd year they've done it.

I liked both but I agree. Josy's version was much more powerful and emotional. I was never much of a Josy guy but her confession/regret moment was so intense that for a moment I was on board of Josy fandom. It was a good scene.

DPC slowly fixing the mistakes of earlier episodes. I just hope for more in the next patch and we should hear both of them regretting their choice of not choosing MC when we have good relation points with them.I disliked we must choose one while missing the other girls scene, I hope both of them get another scene of showing regret in next updates.
