Who? The hulk guy?Is it possible to win the fight with Caleb when you play without mini-games?

You can end the fight standing, but not knock him out.Is it possible to win the fight with Caleb when you play without mini-games?
Serious question... have you played Acting Lessons? IMHO, DPC handled heavy drama in that pretty well. Granted, it was only a portion of a much shorter story, but still.Frankly, I've seen nothing in any of DPC's writing that convinces me heavy dramatic stakes are his forte.
I have, and I do not share your opinion. The relentless, brutal drama in the last quarter of that game was damn near sadistic. I can accept a story going dark, but that's not an excuse to revel in said darkness.Serious question... have you played Acting Lessons? IMHO, DPC handled heavy drama in that pretty well. Hard agree. AL came with a lot of positive reviews and recommendations which is why I decided to check it out after playing Badik. My first thought after playing was "Okay...? That was something." The characters were interesting for the most part, and I even kinda liked the nurse plot at the end, and The Choice had me a little shook. But the conflicts seemed to be rushed, trying a bit too hard, and not that well executed in my opinion.I have, and I do not share your opinion. Suffice it to say, Acting Lessons is the single biggest concern I have with Being a DIK.
Playing with mini games you can't "knock him out" either, but if you can win the fight, playing without mini games only gets me down and he makes fun of me...You can end the fight standing, but not knock him out.
Since you couldn't have found it on this page, and this thread is vast, probably late October, early November. But we don't really know until the developer tells us, probably just a few weeks before it comes out.Does anyone know when the next update comes out I really like this game?
Gotta agree with you and ename on this one. Just having that final act surprise psycho killer was pretty cliche, and I've also felt worried about it in BaDIK. DPC's characters and dialogue are fantastic, some of the best I've seen in video games. But his plots are a little weak. I hope he proves us wrong with BaDIK.Hard agree. Illusion of choice, almost any choice based game is like that. You get to decide who the MC gets to fuck and possibly end up with.I like this game but a lot of the choices don't seem to matter a whole lot.
I don't get it, just write a story where the choices actually matter and move the story along, not rocket science is it?Illusion of choice, almost any choice based game is like that. You get to decide who the MC gets to fuck and possibly end up with.
But any major choices like, not freaking the fuck out when the MC learns about M&J, even though your trying to hook up with both, and have no right to get that pissed.
Or if you you try for more with M&J, and they turn you down. Is there any way you'd still want to be friends with these girls? Of course not, you'd tell them F off and bye.
There's a lot of those kinds of scenarios. But I get it.
yep dark for the sake of being darkI have, and I do not share your opinion. The relentless, brutal drama in the last quarter of that game was damn near sadistic. I can accept a story going dark, but that's not an excuse to revel in said darkness.

that's right, the problem is not the choices that are not proposed to us (which would make the game huge and unmanageable), but those that are proposed to us but do not affect MC's behaviorI don't get it, just write a story where the choices actually matter and move the story along, not rocket science is it?
Why give pointless choices to not be interested in someone, to then push the player into a relationship anyway and just for some shitty drama, if the dev wants to force it then don't give the player a choice......simple.
Two games, forced relationships and choices leading to badly written drama, it's not looking great for how this story is going to go, but fingers crossed that he pulls this one out the bag.
You can loose the Cumpetition, essentially MC shouts I came (not sure if he did) and it’s over. So IF she does have a STD you can avoid it. Would be kind of silly in my opinion given that is literally the only scene, including the prostitution scenes, where a condom can be worn. Also be annoying if in a 16 part story something that significant happened at the start of ep 2 and you had to replay everything to avoid it... That said I guess some of those decisions will need a pay off.So, let's say Quinn has an STD. Becuase we get no say in her inserting MC's dick dueing the Cum-a-tention do we Just have to accept that the MC gave everyone an STD? Imagine that as an ending.
Only reason i'm saying this is that Quinn fucks that second-in-comand of the DIKS whom have slept with Ariel. Quinn also shares needles with that same guy. (I assume she pimps herself out as well as the other girls) So how likely is it that the MC has an STD?
im not 100% it’s them I think they want to take credit, but I don’t see how they would pull it off. Could possibly be they hired the nerds. The funny thing is the Jocks post it but we don't have the evidence to pin om them. FUCK!!!

STD is too vague, what are we talking about? You can loose the Cumpetition, essentially MC shouts I came (not sure if he did) and it’s over. So IF she does have a STD you can avoid it. Well, I think if you’ve given half the girls on campus the clap, or herpes, it’s enough for none of them to touch you again for a while. Especially if you give it to Jill, or Bella, or Maya. Perhaps you could get away with giving it to the more DiKish characters like Sage or maybe Josy.STD is too vague, what are we talking about?
herpes? chlamydia? HIV?
but wouldn't a pregnancy be much more devastating at that point?
it seems to me a plan too complex for the JOCKs![]()
I understand that it's unreasonable to expect meaningful story-altering choices from a game only one person is working on when it's nearly unprecedented even from game studios with hundreds or thousands of workers. Stuff has to be streamlined to some degree. I want to reiterate what would piss me off in a scenario you laid out because my initial reply wasn't entirely clear about it: My problem was mainly with how unrewarding and disheartening it would feel to have all or most of the people we've build relationships with suddenly turn against us when we had no way of preventing it. Shit WILL hit the fan eventually and that's fine, as long as it doesn't feel like a deliberate slap in the face, drama for the sake of drama. Lots of games do similar tropes but the good ones also make sure you aren't left abandoned without others to rely on.You're assuming that, due to the small amount of agency we have over the MC, we are molding and affecting his story with our actions, but we're really not, at least to not to a large extent. We're simply choosing how he approaches and deals with certain things along the way, but there's an overarching narrative to this story and it's going to impact the MC one way or another.
In a way, this game is very similar to Philly's games, where the overarching story and events within it progress without our control and continue to move along regardless of the decisions made by us, the player. We basically just get to choose who he fucks along the way. BaDIK seems very likely to follow the same structure, and if we are to have the MC getting embroiled in something that he has had no involvement in thus far, then that is just how the story is meant to go. And when you think about it, pretty much every single VN does exactly this because there's only so much control players can have over how the story will end, but not how the story will go.
So the question isn't if something major will happen and how can we avoid it, but when will it happen and how will we have the MC deal with it?
to me too the story of the STD convinces littleWell, I think if you’ve given half the girls on campus the clap, or herpes, it’s enough for none of them to touch you again for a while. I doubt it will be HIV. Pregnancy is possible, however because cream pies are a fetish I think it’s unlikely. In fact it’s a bit similar to STDs. If you want to do a story that involves STDs or pregnancy then condoms should be an option. It’s one of those things with these games, if you want those things to happen (STDs & pregnancy) I’m fine with that, however a Warning should be in place at the start.
