sorry, I was starting from the end of the sixth chapter, so either MC and the girls will not find the father in the dormitory and therefore everything will be postponed, or they will find him and have to deal with him in some way.

if Maya could have had the money by pretending she was no longer interested in Josy she would have done so already, indeed it would have been easier (and more logical) when she thought that maybe she would never see her again. doing it now would be very bad for Josy, it would mean denying her love, at a time when they are rebuilding their relationship (with MC or without)

and hiding behind an exclusive relationship with MC (one of the hypotheses she made about how to handle Maya's father) would be the same (as well as being terribly selfish towards Mc if he was rejected)

Before Josy showed up, Maya was already getting tuition, as her father didn't think her and Josy were together. That's why dad had Derek "keeping him updated"... to make sure it stayed that way. As long as that was the situation, there was no need for Maya to say anything to her dad, because she was thinking that once she got the free tuition from the HOTs, she'd be able to just avoid the confrontation completely. However, she didn't realize the lie until just before the end of Chapter 6, which is where we're at right now.

I just think those three have an understanding that they'll say whatever they have to say to get her dad off her back. So, I don't think Josy would get her feelings hurt if Maya were to say she wasn't involved with anyone. It's not like they'd have to completely stop seeing each other.

I think it is possible that the relationship between Maya and Josy (with or without MC) is still doomed to failure for several reasons.

a choice of Maya in this sense could be the perfect reason to bring it down

I do not think, they or have paid it or not Maya's tuition, if they had paid it is not that you can take it back, there is probably a deadline within which it must be paid. and Derek must make sure that Maya is "deserving" of it.

but even if it's like you say, the idea of pretending to be straight (father doesn't care that Maya is a good student, or at least it's not his main concern), hiding Josy is really humiliating, it's unacceptable

and all this purely for money (after she was willing to do whatever Quinn asked for money, and we hope we saw everything she had to do).

As has been mentioned, Mel could have been using earbuds while on the treadmill or she could've got off it when she got Chad's call; the way Chad asks if the other person liked the panties he sent suggests a conversation that was just beginning rather than one which had been going on for a while.

Sage doesn't actually know who Chad's talking to though, she only knows he's on the phone. More importantly, Sage couldn't possibly have seen through several walls into the Alpha's locker room so there's no real reason to assume that the call Sage knows about and the one MC listens in on are the same call; Sage may have seen him talking to his dad and been so paranoid that she assumed he was talking to a side chick and it was pure coincidence that MC heard what he heard.

Or it's a plot hole, pure and simple.

Not sure there's a lot of evidence supporting it, the main reason that theory got off the ground was because how awesome would it be if the mc was fucking Tybalt's mom and his sister (in Tybalt's bed no less). There was that one tweet where Sage chastises Tybalt for stalking Jill and he responded snarkily, kinda like fighting siblings - but it's a long shot theory.

Don't you know Sage has transcended observation Haki that allows her to see through walls? I swear this joke will be underappreciated.

Mel and Sarah are involved in either being Chad's side fling or the ones blackmailing him for some reason as Mel's face when Chad broke up with Sage was one of "I really fucked up and question my life choices".
