It's unlikely that you can SLI 4090's, since NVIDIA officially shut down physical bridges. But it's a massive upgrade nonetheless. In the 4090 vs 3090Ti test, the 4090 showed something insane like 2.5 times better performance than the 3090Ti. Then the 4090 won again in the test against 3090Ti SLI, with the gap in performance not being even close.
it's not worth waiting for, in fact nobody does it. but if you're still around in August-September, it's worth playing it

Yes his current videocard is 3090. I got them mixed up because his previous one was 2080Ti. But even then, that means the performance gap will be even bigger then. But the point is, the upgrade to 4090 won't lead to shorter development times, it will lead to even bigger updates and even longer wait between updates.and He had Just regular 3090, right? Regardless , as you said, what matters is that it's faster. If an animation that took him like 2-3 week to render now gonna take 1 week, it's a win

No wonder lone developers avoid A-cards with such prices. We are of course talking about DPC, but it's still 5-10k per card.
That is the latest version, S3 is a separate download but you need to play 0.8.3 first and at the end you will be prompted to make a special save that will get imported in the new season. And when you install S3 make sure they are in a separate folders, not on top of each other.
