Wow, our perceptions are like totally different. For me Bella and Sage are the two that risk the most or invested the most to be the MC.

Bella risks her best friend and her job just to be with the MC, and even though Jill is hurt or whatever, Bella didn't weazel out, she went to a party just for the MC with Jill being there, to me that's about as commited as it gets for 1 week into being exclusive.

Sage basically says she'll wait for the MC for however long it takes at the HOT party and when the MC makes up his mind and tells her what's up, she insta agrees. The MC and her share the stuff that really hurts, they value eachother a lot and Sage seems the most drawn to the MC of all the girls, like at every opportunity she clings to him.

Maybe your expectations for one week'ish into being exclusive are just off. In the US, the "I love you" usually comes way later than that, and a good time longer into the exclusive dating period.

From my pov, the pacing so far is absolutely normal and makes perfect sense.

* Bella hurts Jill not because she wants the MC for herself, but because she didn't have the balls to admit that she liked the MC before he had a date with Jill.

* Bella would break up with the MC if that was Jill's will.

* Bella going to the Halloween party doesn't prove anything, she also goes to the Halloween party even though she isn't romantically involved with the MC.

* Bella had all the time in the world to look up what the handbook said about teacher-student relationships and didn't, it seems like this isn't a priority for her (weird).

* I love Sage, but as a girlfriend, Sage is petty to the point of breaking up with the MC just because she believes he is sexually berating her by refusing the bizarre things she proposes.

In fact, we had different perceptions about Sage and Bella. I'm not saying you're wrong, I just wanted to show how I interpreted these situation.

The MC did indeed prove it, but so far the girls haven't. Sometimes it feels like only the MC is willing to put in the effort to make things work between him and his chosen girl. This is most explicit with Sage and Bella. Neither Sage nor Bella have done anything thus far to prove that they would fight to have a relationship with the MC. Sage still sees the MC as fuckbuddies and Bella is still scared to get into a relationship with the MC even though she knows she has feelings for him. As things stand, I'm more of a believer in a breakup than an outpouring of love from an MG until Ep.12.

Josy and Maya date MC despite knowing how troublesome such a relationship can be, add Maya's issues to the mix and they're all perfectly aware it'll not be easy.

Jill puts up with a dumbass blackmail plot to help MC even if they're not really dating, despite how much shit people over here give her, the girl has shown she won't just fuck off the moment something's giving her trouble.

Both MC and Bella are mostly aware of how much shit they're in for if people find out and still they decide to date each other, what else do you want them to do to prove to each other they're serious?

And Sage has poured her heart out for MC, he knows how difficult the Chad situation was for her or how hard it was for her to ask her parents for help, and has shown to MC that she's interested and won't give up on him that easily. He knows she's not a basic bitch who dumps people like nothing.

That's the reason I try to keep Zoey out of the nomination if I'm at Sage's brunch. Zoey costume is one of the coolest at this party, and she's one of my favorites. But Sage's reaction is thought provoking. But Sage is running out of time right now. She could expect Chad's cock to work since they were together in her freshman year of college. I agree with you that at some point she has to take the complete leap of faith and just roll with it but man, you have to look at what's at stake.

The most logical thing would be to switch jobs and remove all stigma and all problems but the town where they live doesn't look like it has another college next door and she not only has to make a decision for right now, the MC will be there for at least 4 years. Bella is probably the only one that would get a pass from me for being on the fence and still insecure about it, although as of right now, I think she handles it like a champ.

If any "route" finally needs something solid it's the Quinn path, because that 1.0000001 steps forward and 1 step backwards is REALLY starting to get old, I hope their "date" finally moves the needle and we get something that sticks.
