You shouldn't forget that Josy sends the MC already in EP1 a picture where she is naked and covering her right breast with her hand.

My guess is that Josy teased the MC more at the beginning. She probably wanted to test her effect on the MC. The more Josy falls in love with the MC, the more insecure she becomes. Why? She gets more and more afraid of losing the MC.

Does it require special courage to do so? It remains a 'private' gesture

I'm a real sucker for bittersweet stories; those that aren't necessary gonna end up with the protagonist living happily ever after. I believe that those stories, even if written in a fantastical setting, feel the most real.

I prefer playing as DIK MC for my own reasons, which makes the game less abundant in terms of MG content. I experience less cool MG shit. So my favourite moments aren't related to romance. But the ones that do, oh boy, they're as bittersweet as you can get, like a fucking lemon.

First? MC realises how he feels and what he must do. He runs and runs, almost stumbling over his own feet. Enters a fancy restaurant. Runs down stairs, skipping every 2nd step. I love you. But she doesn't feel the same way. EP9 makes it clear that it's most likely over, but boy, oh boy, isn't it the best way to officially enter Others path?

Second and my favourite? I want to try with you, I really hope it works out. You don't feel the same? It's too much of a risk? Alright. But I still cannot get over you. You realise that? I know it wasn't your decision; it was hers. You were too afraid to risk it all; to be fully true with your feelings, you couldn't lose her. I get it, but I won't stop trying. And then you enter Others path.

I really hope the endings of this game will really reflect that kind of energy. And if BaDIK still offers Disney-like happy endings, I will manage, as long as there's gonna be room for a little bit of grey .


PS: I understand that we need power fantasy in our lives. Video game developers and especially visual novel developers, profit from making games cater to that need. Life's not mediaeval fantasy anymore and taking risks is hard. Fucking 30 women like DIK MC would probably get you an STD; fucking without protection, early fatherhood. Also, our lives aren't that happy all the time; we sometimes struggle and need some entertainment, need some escapism. Nothing wrong with that. Some people watch TV series, some play RPGs, some watch porn; we have a combination of all of those.

This episode brought some changes to the story and characters; people also interacted with each other in pairings that weren't seen before or to that extent. For instance, Sage and Jill broke the ice. It's just that it wasn't groundbreaking, and with the hype and wait time of almost a year, yeah.

Yet I believe that kind of chill and fun episode, with 3 stages of a party (like DPC is Mass Effect 3: Citadel fan or something), plus some flashbacks here and there, is gonna work best with the whole 1–16 episode playthrough.

EP5 was the first one that I had to wait for and I was really disappointed when it first came out. One prep party, a visit to Bella and a mansion scene, that's it? Not even 24 in-game hours happened! But now it's a really good change of pace when I have a full run.

I believe that at least some part of the hate on EP9 will shift the moment it stops being the latest BaDIK episode.




I wouldn't mind DPC taking a 2-3 week break after releasing a new episode (I know about release day dev responsibilities). Nothing beats a rested, fresh and happy game developer who is far from being burned out.

About harem, I'm sorry, but throuple is already quite an extraordinary situation, and going further would only bring it farther from realistic and into unrealistic fantasy territory, which I hope DPC would like to avoid, but my interpretation of what kind of story he is crafting. Like I know, there are already so many exaggerated parodies of characters and things like fucking a teacher, but (there's always a fucking butt) all of those things can happen in real life (but are unlikely to happen to the same person).

Three or more women for one guy? In western society? Like Wheel of Time has a prophecy about a guy being shared between 3 women and it only works because it is prophecised and the women there aren't freaking happy that they will have to share. I don't know; IMO, it wouldn't fit the story he crafted.

I agree so much on this. What I'd add is that one of the biggest positives to DPC's work (in my not so humble opinion), is that the breasts and dicks are not oversized to the point of some deranged fantasy. The characters are more relatable not just because of their looks, but also because of their character, their responses, their behaviors, and their feelings. A harem would ruin it just as much as oversized breasts or having no reaction to the MC groping them at every chance.

The three-way relationship was an interesting thought experiment, but what ruined it for me was the casual disregard they gave the MC when discussing their mutual love (for each other) in the still wrecked library. The MC was there as a wall decoration, as far as they were concerned (and I think DPC played that aspect up beautifully by blending the MC literally into the wall behind them near the end). He was nothing but an afterthought in their conversation. And that means both of them DQ'd themselves in my book.

Sage is the real deal for me, but not before she was able to put her obsession aside. Loyalty (of sorts), smarts, dedication, responsibility, beauty, AND the ability to explore her kinky side. You just can't do better than that. Well, if not for the family baggage (which had a FANTASTIC foreshadowing with the overturned picture and a few casual comments).

Controversy: I also like Lily and think there's a place for her if my suspicions turn out to be true. Warning the MC off exposes one of two things to me, and if she isn't who she seems to be, it could make for a VERY interesting story arc. All I can say is, MC needs to stay good overall and remain true to his upbringing.

The math ones are too easy, I wish they were harder. The English ones are hard, but I do the cheat approach: save before the quiz, put the words I know in, use the cheat, and add the words to my known list, repeat as needed. Save mining for the win.

I also like the free roam, as long as there is always a stated goal (DPC has been really good at keeping us from getting "lost in the woods").

The Fuck off option was one I really wanted, too. Full on screw you both, you deserve each other and all that. Maya grilling the MC over his honesty and then pulling that shit, and while Josy isn't as bad about it, her conversation in the bathroom was enough to show her the door, too.

Definitely. For me, Josy reveals herself much more deeply and vividly along the path of friendship rather than the path of a relationship. On the friendship path Josy is really torn apart and there is some conflict, she has a personality and desires. She is unhappy with Maya but is forced to be with her because of some promise or fear of being alone. DPC has too many obvious repetitive moments in the game. Surely MC will either help Josy get over him and move on with Maya( but it's unclear how that will be done) or have a hand in the breakup.
On the way of relationship everything is reduced to rivalry between girls for MC's attention, it's interesting, but so far we haven't seen any vivid scenes. Josy is still in Maya's shadow on the relationship path, because the whole trouple is about Maya's problems and trying to solve them. The conflict between Maya and Josy will be the main thing in the whole season 3.

While I don't think Josy is in Maya's shadow at all I do think the conflict between the two will be a big part of the season

After that dialogue in ep9 where the MC tells Josy that he still thinks about her all the time, Josy's reaction made me think that she is ready to make the decision to leave Maya, their relationship doesn't look good, and we saw that clearly at the party. (On the path where they decide to be just friends.)

I can't see Josy and Maya together until the end of the game, I even considered that with the MC balancing between them, he could keep them together, but I'm already doubting that, I think that in the end we can only have one of them, even if we don't decide that, DPC must do.

Is it just me who has a morbid curiosity what a sex scene between the MC and Arieth would be like?

I don't think it would be bad, the DIK's rated her well in this regard.
But she reminds me of Ronald McDonald, I was never able to get interested in her.
