best thing is i was also in contact and supporting digi b (Artemis) and drifty (leap of faith) and Ocean (summer gone) at the time and had asked similar questions.. each was more than happy to provide tech help even tho they didnt owe me anything and were very open and friendly about the matter and supportive

DPC has problems also to give more details about his hardware setup, and I don't know that information would damage him. Meanwhile I had some developers that offered me free advices in case I would like to try DAZ, after I asked the a simple question, and told me to contact them again in case of need. There are people writing their precise DAZ settings to fan art creators, or giving out the DAZ configuration files used for their VN. Then we have DPC who disclose nothing and bans people who post fan art of BaD. The guy is really eccentric.

agreed as i was also a mid tier supporter at time of banning.. in uk £'s i was about £20 a month as it was my min/only funded title at the time.. I was also a frequent commenter and user here so your theory holds weight

Holy fuck I really don't know if you people are all so plenty of money that can justify spending 20 GBP for a single game EACH MONTH. Man I pay 5 Euro/month for my cellphone with 30GB data usage, I pay 24 Euro/month for 1Gbps Internet connection and so on, but 240 GPB/year to play a game a few days a year? It seems a bit not competitive as price. Lower tiers like 1 or 3 euros have more logic.
Also, if we stay in the software department, there are open source projects that give their useful products away for free and don't even make 1500 Euros a year in donations. If I were to support projects I would go first for those that are in more need (and more if they also release useful stuff for free to everybody).

After seeing some data from Steam I can undestand why DPC made all that fuss over the Steam release (despite it being over 18 months away).



The game sold extremely well for it to have over 5K concurrent players and even after all those years since the release of Season 2 the game never dropped below 200 players.

Also, the little bump after the annoucement is funny lol.

i agree that it wasnt the best thought out logic.. i believed in the project and wanted to give back as much as i could (at the time) i'd dropped to 1 pound gbp or whatever the lowest was a few times like most but was a constant supporter mainly as i said because i saw something i truly believed in and reading it saw me through many nights of anxiety and depression i had at the time, It was a lifeline to a life i wish i could have experienced growing up in the uk and as such much like the emotional attachment many got to the true story behind leap of faith's creators tale, I would have gladly supported something that had been a massive lift to me during days/nights when i needed that levity (mostly at dereks antics lol) Thats why it really pissed me off when my membership was axed like it was but despite that.. i can still rely on fine disreputable fellows like yourselves lol and this site haha to maintain my psychological welfare

i got blocked a year or so ago with no reason.. only communication id had was to ask him prior to this about how to do renders as was considering doing a VN too as im a writer with several pieces of work that would be very VN friendly if i had any kind of ability to use daz or similar editors.. next log in i recieved the block.. i love his work and his dedication to the writen narrative but like his titled piece he is a DIK and a self absorbed one at that

I was banned years ago (as a low-tier patron) for asking a question that may or may not have implied that I had knowledge about the latest release, prior to it being available to my tier. I was pretty salty for a day or two.

Despite this, DPC is likely my favorite creator to this very day. His work ethic, dedication and vision are legendary. He's the epitome of a digital Renaissance Man; an extremely talented and well-rounded developer. Love him or hate him, I can't help but respect everything that he has created. Maybe that respect will dissipate one day.

But for now, I'm eagerly awaiting Episode 11 and hoping to capture just an ounce of that same, sheer magic that DPC is capable of creating-- but in my own work. One day... perhaps one day... I'll get my revenge. I'll join DPC in the realm of legendary smut devs. We'll lock eyes from across the heavens. And he'll lower his chin to me, in the slightest of nods. A faint, begrudging acknowledgement, from one man to another. Then all the glory will be mine.

That was one of the worst endings to a game ever. And in a way, the anger over that ending was a compliment to him that he didn't realize. If his writing wasn't so well done, and the story so well done, nobody would really care. But I loved the writing, loved the story and he made me care about these fictional characters, and then threw in a story where you couldn't save everyone and killed one off, especially the girl that had been abused.

But... it really was a compliment to his writing when you think about it.
