Happy Friday, DIKs.

This week, I've continued to work on art.

I'm up to 6995 posed static renders - of which 308 are in the render queue.

I'm up to 389 posed animations - of which 66 animation files are in the render queue.

I also added Discord rich presence functionality for Episode 11 this week—I'm almost done with it.

I only have two scenes left to pose, and I estimate I need to pose a maximum of 150 renders before I'm done. I aim to complete this remaining art next week and continue working with Music/SFX and other coding tasks.

I can start polishing the episode within the next two weeks if all goes well.

Have a nice weekend
Dr PinkCake

When have being OPTIMISTIC about RELEASE Dates have worked out for being a Dik fans ?

and how is this going to be different next time, please tell me ?

especially having 66 animations in render QUEUE.

and do we know if he actually finished posing animations ? or is he going to pose more animations.

and what if he decides to release ep 11 at late March ? we can NOT do nothing, lets just forget about it until it is released. that is how much pessimistic i am.

come on , this is really a bad news, there is no way it is considered as a good news

I guess 60 fps is more of an excuse. While the animations are rendering he can be busy scripting, coding, creating art, drinking, hunting, fishing, buying trinkets on amazon....
right

and

now i know this have been a topic before but

60 fps vs 30 fps
Plus can anybody see any difference between 60fps & 30fps

- i meant like recognizing it with your Bare Eyes, so that you can identify the quality increase of the animation.
- how much of a quality difference does they have. and if it is not much , what is the point?

We might get to 2 years at some point, sure, but not by Episode 12 as Ottoeight claims.
Some fellow user used to post a chart where we saw every single update numbers: renders, animations and so on, comparing the time it took DrPink to make them.

Just compare the renders. When DrPinkCake said that episode 11 was going to have 7195 renders, I thought: "so March it is".

Still doesn't mean that Episode 12 will take 24 months, meaning spring 2027.

The difference is clearly noticeable, but is it needed in an AVN ? No. Plus 30fps feels more cinematic than 60
Might not be needed, but doesn't really hurt either, IMO. Especially if it's like DPC says that they don't affect development time very much.
But it would be interesting if he could post a 30fps vs 60fps of the same animations so we could really compare.

MC: "I have been getting a lot of complaints from my brothers. A. Lot. Of. Complaints.
One that comes up often, if they cum on your tits you start crying, saying, 'I'm sorry grandma!!!".

If I pass around one of my ex-girls I am saying to my brothers, 'she's good to go'.

I'm sorry but you won't be invited to anymore parties."

Aren't you already supporting him and the development by buying the game? Seems kinda greedy to ask for donations just to develop the game that you then sell to your fans. "Either/or" would be find, but doing both just seems incredibly greedy, but I guess that's the new way of doing business.
You do by buying also, but the whole point is to support the development. Game companies have investors but private developers don't. If nobody supports the development then the game can't be developed, or it will take a hell of a lot longer since they will only be able to work on it in their free time. Many of them, like DPC, have this as their full-time job.
Without it, majority of the games here wouldn't exist because nobody would be able to develop it.

Many developers on Patreon also have that you have to support them for a couple of months before you get the game, to make sure people don't just pay for one month and then bail, but DPC isn't one of them.

Not sure, but I think you get Eternum regardless of tier.
No, you get Eternum at Supporter level, the second level ($6.50), a week after release. It's a little cheaper than DPC ($10) but you also get Acting Lessons and Acting Lessons walkthrough.

But if you just want to buy the game, you buy it on Steam or GOG.

Yeah, I heard that both him and his mods have a...complicated...relationship towards his Discord users.

Imagine paying $150/month for a fucking title on a Discord for a VN and they when you praise the game and the developer you get banned! :D
Imagine paying that amount of money for more than a yr. then get banned. That's more expensive than buyinga brand new AAA games and a console or pc

Now that's a minigame I could get behind "Fuckface's restaurant" Yakuza cabaret style. Pimp out the girls you don't care about to fund dates with the girls you do and the MCs 2D art obsession. Maya would also have her college paid for in no time under MCs benelovent pimpdom.

Even Madame would find a use hopefully in a very lucrative snuff film :cautious:.

God I feel like the guy on a certain popular game's thread, with his obnoxious pedantry. Fuck :cautious:
Not sure what it says about F95 that more than one thread and user enters my mind in that regard. F95 feels like the home of the perverted, the angry and the irreversibly fucking retarded at times.

I totally agree with you. I understand how Patreon works and I agree is a good way new authors start their projects. The problem is when these authors stop being "new" but continue to milk their project... Why there are so many patreons still agree to finance them? This is the question I don't have a good answer :unsure::unsure:
So what? He should tell people to stop supporting him? Nobody's forcing them.

Do people think Patreon just made up the word "Patron"? Like it's just a funny name or something for members?
I'm not defending him taking over a year to make the episode, and there's a lot more that sucks about DPC, but the whole point is everyone's patronage allows him to make developing the game his full time job. You're the "studio" funding the development of a "AAA game". If you view it as paying for the game itself over the course of however long it takes, then of course the price is outrageous, but A) that's incorrect and B) just stop your subscription, and only pay for the finished product. God I feel like the guy on a certain popular game's thread, with his obnoxious pedantry. Fuck :cautious:

Except there's no return on investment at all. They're just supporters who want DPC to succeed in his creation of the game.

I think these AVN creators have begun to take the piss when it comes to delivering though. Most Patreon creators are putting out continuous content, be they pod casts or whatever, and in that sense, the patrons are paying for continuous content.

AVNs on Patreon were initially putting out monthly (or faster) content, which is appropriate since it coincides with monthly payments, but then a few started to break the model, and deliver "more" over a longer periods of time. Others soon followed suit and it's definitely become that the "better" games here are now taking fucking forever to put out episodes.

Consider DPC's first game. Episode 1 was released in May 2018 and the final episode, episode 7, was released in December of the same year. The entire game wasn't even 3.5GB, but it was a complete game and absolutely captured the hearts of so many readers.

Then he started this game, it took him almost 3 months to get out the second episode (not sure how long the first took). And he's just been taking longer and longer for each episode since, because the patrons let him.

Even the Interlude took him about 3 months to make (the patrons donated somewhere between $100K and 250K during that time).

At this rate, with each episode taking longer than the last, episode 16 will take a year and a half to develop, and released in just over 6 years time. And unless his patrons abandon him (and they've remained pretty stable for the last 3 years now), he will have raked in somewhere between 4 and 11 million US dollars.

There's no fucking way this game is worth that kind of money, but good luck to him if he can pull it off for the next 6+ years...

So what you are saying is that he should have stuck with the size and quality he had in a game from 6 years ago? Every episode he releases now is bigger and longer than Acting Lessons' 5000 images and 217 animations, with higher overall quality.
You're comparing a much shorter game to a whole series.
