Quick question. What's the moratorium on spoilers? The latest update has been out a year now. And with so many branches, there's no telling what anyone has seen or not seen.

I've been here a while, but haven't posted. I just want to make sure I'm not violating any rules.

up to 2-3 months after the new chapter. and only if they are particularly important revelations

(though you could argue he wastes his time on the anti scrappy thing, but a line of code put in to detect if scrappy has been used doesn't seem that much compared to implementing some sort of DRM)

While it took DPC about 5 seconds to write that line of code in each of the three places where he implemented it, he must already have spent significantly more time reverse-engineering the Scrappy mod to figure out what to look for to detect if had ever been used.

(Definitely less effort than putting in a DRM, but still more time than it took us to spot and nuke those three lines of his code... )

Here's a unique roleplay run, but not sure if it the game will recognize it well...

You play a really smart MC do everything perfectly without cheating and are a polite kind guy friendly to all. Then Chad assaults you (make sure you don't have dildo helmet) and you let him beat you up. Then you start on purpose failing all tests and behaving like completely different person, do whatever you can to be rude to your friends and fail everyting. I call this run "The Brain Damage".

Sure, if piracy were eradicated, some pirates would buy the game. But all of them? Come on... It's not like water. People can live without it if they can't get it for free!

It probably took him 5 minutes at most.


As usual depends on the person as well, there are some people who will post stuff regardless of how litle time has passed.

That's why I advise everyone to get the link and then get the fuck out of here ASAP.

Imagine waiting 15 months and getting spoiled? I would be devastated lol.

And I thought I had gone crazy for believing that at the end of EP.11 the MC would have his affinity changed to the opposite one defined in EP.8 as a result of a paradigm shift caused by a major event (name of EP.11).

Who would have a meltdown first? ChipLecsap upon seeing DIK MC become CHICK and lose Josy or Joshy92 upon seeing CHICK MC become DIK and lose Maya?

This, some pirate games just because they can, if it was a choice of paying or not playing you can bet there are more than a few who will go for the not playing option.

Though it is true every pirated game is a lost sale, it's not going equate that just cause there was $100 worth of pirated games out there that that $100 would have been made if there was no leaked version.

Yeah, I spotted those three lines. The point is how did DPC know that (the old) Scrappy mod created that variable in the persistent namespace if he didn't reverse-engineer Scrappy mod?

I don't have a copy of the old Scrappy mod, so I can't test how hard is to decompile it and to spot the creation of the variable.
Maybe you're right, maybe it took him just a few minutes.

It's still a reverse engineering task – although I must admit that reverse engineering ALL the features of the mod isn't necessary.

to prevent people from reporting crashes that have nothing to do with the game but with the mod, DPC has made it so that ALL those who use the mod report the same crash...

a block warning them that they are using a mod would be more effective but would take away DPC's pleasure in getting to know the infidels one by one

A week seems quite apt to me, but everyone has different milage. My argument has always been that once a piece of media is in the public domain, it's open to any sort of spoilers. Obviously there are some who are courteous and avoid posting, but there's always some who'll want to discuss the game in detail. It's a simple fact, if you don't want to be spoiled, consume the media as fast as you can and stay away from anything you can spoil yourself

I think you're onto something here. I've always said if the thruple was to breaks up Dik/Chick status will matter. That is to say, you'll end up with Maya as a chick, Josy as a dik and the thruple stays together neutral

Even tv shows and movies you can give spoilers the day it comes out

Well yeah, once some things out of there box, you can't exactly put them back in. The simple fact is if you don't want to be spoilt, stay away from things that might do that for you.
TV shows, games, films, books. Whatever the media Wikipedia alone usually has a full synopsis hours after release.
Yeah you can be nice and try to hide stuff for others, but you can't generally stop people discussing an item that is out there.

Heck one of gaming most biggest spoilers, a certain characters death has been in the public domain for years, yet in the recent remake people were airing on the side of caution discussing it. You can't look after people forever

fun fact, dpc banned me from patreon because i did not take the riona cliffhanger graciously
well, its either riona meltdown (not making any deaththreats like a crazy person, just saying it was evil to make such cruel cliffhanger as its going to be painful to wait years to see what happened), or the fact i was discussing the cliffhanger when my patreon level wasnt supposed to play the game yet. (tldr, i was highest patreon tier when i became patreon, but between me becoming patreon and latest update another 5 patreon tiers appeared out of nowhere and i was still downloading the game from f95 instead of looking for links in patreon as i dont like navigating that site)

Status could matter but I think who MC spends more time will matter more or at very least will be part of it. Josy seems to be neutral more then dik so I think neutral can still get solo. I have been told chick player but with enough diks points can get Josy to flash him in ep9 if that true then that could be a death sign for dik players with her but only time will tell
