An unpopular opinion: I wish BaDIK had more “dark”, depressing and not so colorful scenes. For example, the scene of Quinn sitting on the roof of the DIKs’ mansion while she remembers her father (EP.9). This scene is incredible!

Her father teaching Quinn as a child about breaking trust... The twilight sky... the grim reaper with his scythe pointed at Quinn... Quinn with a sad look while “Devil's Still Behind” plays in the background...

In my opinion, this is the most artistically beautiful scene in the entire game. DPC killed it! If MC had a scene like this, I would get goosebumps, but MC is a wimp

I agree. DPC seem a bit afraid to go too dark, something I find unfortunate. But after the extreme reactions to Acting Lessons, I kinda understand (fucking death threats because of a VN, some people are insane!!!).
It's too bad because some of DPC's best writing is in those scenes.

It's a remake of a meme I made some time ago. I was looking through my old posts and couldn't find it, so I made a new one.

If I had to guess, based on Josy's hair and Nick with Tommy, it has something to do with the dorm party? And because Jill looks like an evil vampire, you're trying to say Maya had the best lewd/scene of Episode 8 or something? Best girl for the episode?

This scene was bizarrely poorly done. No variables are checked during the entire scene. It's one of the worst scenes in the game if not the worst, it's the DPC screaming in our faces that choices are illusions.

I don't want to start one of my lengthy and boring dissertations, but Zoey falls into the category of LIs I tend not to like.

I'm not speaking of her model (I actually like it), but she felt a bit forced to me, like one of the crowd favourites (named Valeria) in another good and popular VN.

LIs that are introduced later on during the story and that get sort of forced on the player, I understand that in most cases they were likely supposed to appear no matter what, but when interactions feel forced... breaks my immersion.

Aren't Quinn's friends and the physical confrontation hints for something dark or tragic which can later happen? I'd like see MC dealing with Vinny and Co or becoming the new source for Quinn's business. Thats the max level of darkness we might get. But i doubt it since MC has a good heart.

I understand what you mean, but I thought Zoey's addition would be worse. She's very charismatic and seems like a nice girl. I just wish I could ignore her like I can with Quinn or any other side girl. Just to be clear, I like Quinn... I ignore her because she doesn't like my CHICK MC.

Man that scene on the bench "pissed me off" so much, mostly because the first tiime I unlocked it I was on a DIK playthrough and made very little sense having Tremolo DIK every other girl around and then crumble sob his eyes out like a kid.

I always took it as him returning to the person he was before, when she left. It's been made very clear that he was very sensitive and emotional before Zoey left and I guess that side came back. No matter how much the players hate Zoey, the MC loved her. It can't be changed, just like it can't be changed that he fell in love with Josy. It's canon to the game.

There are hints, yes. But he seems to want to have the dark parts in smaller contained scenes. Giving the MC a dark past or sadness would have to affect the whole game and that's something he tries to avoid as much as possible.

The dude has a sad past due to his loss of his mother. But yes that's not dark but sad.

Arieth is required just to continue the game, otherwise you can't even stay in the kitchen. But Dawe can't be pushed if you chose CHICK option. That major choice is such a fucking waste.

Not true. If you choose "I'm mad" he stays mad at her for the rest of the episode and it affects some parts, like the way the MC talks to her, you can't choose to offer her to stay the night and you can't choose her to win best costume.
The personality you have her in Interlude affects her personality but I'm not sure if it does in this scene or just later scenes.

Quinn is my ticket to a darker storyline. The problem is that I don't know how she's going to let CHICK MC help her. Between being saved by CHICK MC and dying in a fire, I'm sure Quinn would rather die in a fire.

Please, DPC! I want to show Quinn that my CHICK MC doesn't hold a grudge. I want her to see what a true white knight can do! I want to show that dalli_x was wronged by making Quinn crave CHICK MC!

I think the idea is that he has changed, and Zoey makes that very clear. She mentions it a lot. Even the times the MC talks about his past we get a glimpse of that he wasn't at all like that, or the fact that he states clearly that he only had sex with one girl before coming to B&R. Like most VNs, we control the character during the game but not who they were in the past.

The truth is that DPC was lazy when it came to creating this scene. It's that simple. Another classic example of DPC's laziness, when Quinn finds out that Vinny threatened MC with a gun. Her reaction is the same regardless of her relationship with MC.

If it's CHICK MC who she despises or DIK MC who she's in love with, it doesn't matter. The reaction is the same. What would it have cost DPC to have created 2-3 renders with different facial expressions? Nothing. It wasn't created out of laziness.
