I kinda agree with both of you. If they regret it and work hard for it, they deserve a happy ending.
But it's not very realistic and bad choices usually end up badly. And like Karamba said, especially for a girl.
he great thing about fiction is that you can give anybody a happy ending as long as you make it work. It's definitely not just a Disney fairy tale rule, it's pretty standard in movies over all. Sometimes you have to break those rules for the sake of the story but in general, the redemption arc with a happy ending is very common and popular.

You're not wrong but it still annoys me that DPC makes it so that no one even hinted at it before. The way it plays out makes it a poorly conceived plot device. At least, if there were more scenes where other characters made allusions to it especially directly to the MC then it would feel more natural but nope we just get the moments with Jacob and Tommy then Quinn and Riona in the first season.
