This is basically it. He has a vision, he enjoys the work and wants to do it himself.I think DPC can afford folks but he just don't wanna.
Time is also a cost. Most often you pay for time. DPC wouldn't have time or money to make a game like Being a DIK without support. Sure, now he has enough money but people chose to continue to support him, nobody forces them.Folks are a cost, and to hire folks you don't just need money: you need to be a charismatic person with management skills.
You need to be willing to delegate, and thus to accept that nobody in the world is going to do something in the exact same way you would have done it.
Let's say that DPC has many other qualities...
Very true.I don't know and never interacted with him, but just my silly 2cents
All this to say, nobody forces anyone to pay for DPCs development time (patreon, etc..) the proof is that we are on this site which besides marketing (important) doesn't provide any direct benefit to him.
- The cost of competent people can be staggering.
- If you don't get competent people the quality will decrese exponentially the more you add to the project.
- Delegating part of your creative process can be good, but also removes a lot of agency on your own project, some understandably don't like it.
All it takes is to be patient, or not and move on.
2. A certain other college VN is proof of that.
Actually, sister/brother's husband/wife is also in-law.inlaw
