Would you guys say Zoey is more FWB or EX. I always saw her more as a FWB then didn't realize her feeling till after she left. While the opposite for the MC but my friend was telling me how she was a EX curious did I miss something that was obvious

At the time they considered themselves FWBs, but in retrospect they realized they were actually a couple, they just didn't realize it at the time. Zoey proberbly didn't realize it until the MC told her.

More like two teenagers who didn't realize they were in love with each other, and more so on the MC's side at the time. They started out as just friends, then it turned into FWB, and then they didn't understand when it grew into serious feelings. Unfortunately for Zoey, who is not as emotionally romantic as Tremolo, this final realization came when she saw him at a campfire with other girls.

but seriously, since MC either can only refer her as Childhood friend or Ex Girlfriend when he talk to J.B, but also the same time some other character refer to her as MC's EX , the narative try to lean in to the EX aspect more.
It is among one of the weakes part of the game

And I would have chosen a more neutral option. More truthfully, MC told Derek, she is not just my best friend, explaining so that "everything is complicated". Dude has serious confusion in his head, considering how he chases several girls at once and whines "I am so rookie in love" - not surprising.

I always called it ger FWB mostly because the feeling felt on sided until she left. But it always felt like one of those things that is open to interpretation. cause clearly Zoey's feeling were always there just not known to her and they did hang out and have a good time together and did everything but date.

I usually tell John Boy "childhood friend" since it's not his business and we are not close that much to share personal things (my canon), ofc I tried all options.
Sooner or later, it dawns on MC that he perceived her as a girlfriend, he was just a chicken about it.

imo they were pretty much dating without realizing and putting a label on it... MC realized it first, then Zoe too in the last episode
