Riona is close (and is even more damaged, IMO), as is Sage (though she is a lot better adjusted, anger issues aside). I absolutely love them both, but I'm a sucker for women abused by life.

I sort of agree with your sentiments. I feel for these girls. Probably why I had a problem choosing anyone other than Mellisa in AL. I can’t do it.

I only know one bisexual woman and she far prefers men. I'd think a similar deal is going on with Maya. She'll meet a 100 girls and find 20 of them attractive, meet 100 guys and only one sort of deal. Bisexuals are a little unusual in that it's not a 50/50 like for all of them, some are attracted to one gender more than the other. The weird thing is it doesn't apply once they actually like that person. If they like a man they like him just as much as they would a woman. It's just much rarer they feel that attraction for a man compared to a woman or the other way round.

Maya is used to locking down and hiding her sexuality. I can kind of see how someone like Maya, especially with her father the way he is could drift into her late teens thinking she's a lesbian until she meets and actually interacts with a guy she likes and has an "oh OH GOD" moment (correction by JJ1960).
