If I understand correctly... DPC could program the Being a DIK executable to only work if the player had linked his Patreon (or Discord) account to the game. Don't ask me exactly how he could do this since I'm not a programmer, but it's not impossible.

I bet Sally prefers DIK MC. She also doesn't like CHICK MC, but when the player chooses more CHICK-in-nature options, like apologizing for being rude or giving her the drink she wants without giving her a hard time, Sally seems to feel guilty for treating the MC like shit.

I'm not an expert, but I believe this could be done via web sync like Spotify or something more advanced like Steam. It's a waste of time and resources in my opinion, the DPC shouldn't even bother with it.

I see. I've imagined it could be something like this, but I wasn't sure. Like a login, right? Indeed, as you said, if it's just a simple login but the game is fully inside the player's PC, it could be easily overridden by any script kiddie out there. It would be just like this Sancho Mod thing (or Scrappy... I always confuse one with another, but, you know, the one that makes the game quit itself). And there'll always be the Steam version he won't be able to demand a Patreon login.

there comes to my mind 2 anti piracy things in old games that always made me laugh, i dont remember the names, but in one of them you needed to insert a code who was writen in one the pages of the game manual you got with it and in serious sam you will meet a boss who dont die and move super fast those things were funy as hell first time they got seen, but those didnt last either, mirror edge had a funny one to, slowin the game so you would miss the jumps
