I didn't think anyone was at the door. Maya was looking for towels and I assumed she opened Bella's locked room somehow. I could be wrong about the house layout but it was right next to the stairs. If it was someone at the door it feels weird. Maya seemed surprised, but I don't think she'd recognize the husband, and MC only would if he had looked at the photos. I'm still of the belief that is a fully set up nursery inside.

Yeah, I'm with you. If that's the front door and it's James (Bella and MC reaction could fit), but if a random dude is at the door, then Maya just says 'Hi, can I help you'.
She was also running for towels, most people don't go to the front door to get towels, they open a random door. And based on the house layout, a very good chance it's the locked door.
In what route do we get Bella and Jill sleeping with MC?

I just looked again at my last play through and she is definitely going to the door right at the bottom of the stairs. So has to be the locked room.
