Thats what is amusing to me, this was the initial theory most of the people here had the moment the Doc revealed his inspiration. But, over time people didn't even go there anymore while theorycrafting since it was in a way too obvious and I am sorry, but any justification Magnar will say it will be even dumber than the chicks getting revenge for the Walk of Shame.
The ending was the weakest part of the episode for me by a long shot.
I didn't really read all those speculations, so this reveal was something quite unexpected to me when it happened... and with such lack of "preparation" so to speak, it works pretty well, i must say. I.e. it's entertaining in the "oh
duh" sort of sense, mostly because it invokes those movies. And yeah, Magnar is a delusional blowhard but that's telegraphed from the beginning, so no surprise there and it aligns with his character we've seen so far.
But well, that's just me.
