Honestly, Derek feels forced as well. The Maya Bella Jill Sage core makes sense with josy dating maya so her being there makes sense. Derek is only there because of the contract situation, no idea why he would still hang out with them once that situation was resolved. Over the course of this update (no idea what the timeframe is), MC has been seen doing his own thing, preferring to hang out at strip clubs or at his crib instead of with any of the girls. His hanging out at that party would've made sense in previous updates, but not this one.

Probably because that's his friend group? Like, the original one. He doesn't befriend the DIKs until later on but his first real friend at college is Derek, and then Maya. Sage ends up being a friend to MC too starting Episode 5 where she gives some well meaning advice that he would take to heart and Jill ends up being forced to be a good friend to MC and protect him from the consequences of Being a DIK (Ah! Ah! Ah! I said it! I said the thing!)
Josy is the only outlier because she is determined to the point of obsession to want to be with MC, but she's not a half bad friend when it counts either. It's through her that Jill ends up being able to help Maya and Isabella gets thrown in too thanks to Jill.
Could be wrong but I believe a part of the game's message is that things have a way of going in a circle and looping back.

Yeah, you can see another big difference already with Quinn when you are not also rolling with Lily.

I already made 2 seperate saves for Quinn because I expected something like this to happen.

It's a way of boosting one another's social cred while promising to have each other's backs.

Out of that group, maybe Derek and Sage are his friends if you're on the others' path, and Derek is out of place there, too. Everybody else is just ex-girlfriends. Which if they're going to do that, might as well just put Zoey there as well. It would make as much sense.
try to fulfill 3 needs at least, you have 4 DIKs with only 2 needs fulfilled thats really bad... and fulfilled needs are better than the special activities... although, i thinbk your perks are shit. You have left 3 items worth a lot of money left, but obviously no multiplyer for the happines, what do you need all the items for when you dont use them, and if you are adamant of using all special activities, why dont you have the perk for it? (if you would have, the score would be higher)so i tried doing the christmas party planning and the highest i got was 6.0 multiplier

And lastly, if you need to cutout fulfilled needs, its better to cut out the MC, his happinies is low as fuck and no matter what you do, it will not get high enough to gain a multiplayer in this party. Maybe at the next one. So better settle for at least 3 fulfilled needs of all the others and leave MC behind with 2 or so instead of 4 which are kinda wasted here.
But no matter what, 4 guy with only 2 needs is just bad. and there are mulitple ways to do better than that. You wasted a trashcan and beer for no gain at all, food is missing a lot, most guys want food too, you could fulfill way more needs with food here. The kegs are bad placed, move them so you can unlock 2 kegs and 2 liquor with one cup. For example the girl to the right of Jamie. replace it with the cup, and the rest comes itself... the girl can be moved to the left than und you will gain atleast another fulfilled need. Just by that. and there are more errors like that, which are obvious to see but iam to tired to explain, sorry to be harsh here, but this planning is just really bad and 6.0x is even kinda high for this setup to be honest.
