I admire some of you guys... I'm still getting likes from random posts like 120-150 pages ago (up to month+) while I find hard to keep up 1 day discussion, not to mention some faces here keep posting daily since update (probably even earlier). How you guys do that is a mystery to me o_O

Christ, as it stands going full DIK locks you out of (at least for the time being) the "I love you" scene. She starts out loving your sarcasm/mean streak and ends up coming over for cuddles and gentle reassurance.

Dont get me wrong, the shift has left Sage my favourite route and fuck buddy turned "we'll make our own family, with blackjack and threesomes" is a nice arc for her but you have to adjust from DIK to CHICK like she does or there's a mismatch.

Side note, DPC really doesn't have a fucking clue what he wants to do with Maya/Josy does he? Being on their route is in my opinion the worst version of their story. I have a route where I dumped them for Sage and their whole story comes together better when Josy is kinda heartbroken. Being in the throuple is a clusterfuck of the same undercurrent of dysfunction, weird S&M parties and their "friend" scenes being repurposed to bulk out the throuple route. Stripped back and seen from the outside the whole thing is a tight-ish arc.

It also appears the Throuple can't work because Josy always goes wah, no matter your choices.
And this whole "Being a DIK" story is about a guy in freshman year who needs to stop being a DIK and choose a MG/MP.
Which is also why we think these Other/Side Girls will get upgraded to MG status, though hopefully more elegantly than Zoey The Destroyer

And thank God for that. Being able to play LI's route as both DIK or CHICK (or Neutral, for that matter) is what makes this AVN so replayable and gives it that unique charm. Unfortunately, the impact of affinity on LI's routes isn't as significant as I had hoped. I swear the most impact we have lies within Rooster's comments and general conversations with DIKs or side characters.

And it seems DPC also abandoned the idea of this 'segregation' between main LIs and side chicks and shifted from classic type of VN to more innovative(?) "if she's an attractive female she has a route" kind of approach. Well, not completely, since he had to make those changes in the middle of development, but still.

I actually dislike the beginning of Sage's route, despite liking Sage as a character very much. The whole 'fuckbuddy' setup feels more like a 'rebound guy' situation to me, and I'm glad DPC gave us a second entrance to her route.

In my opinion the protagonist is originally designed as a Chick character and all of his actions that the player cannot influence are Chick's actions.
Running away in tears at the end of ep4 is Chick's action. Taking care of a sick Sage is also Chick's action. Helping Jill with a concert in memory of her dead sister is also a Chick act.
But in recent episodes, the difference between Chick and Dik has become more significant and it's become clear that Dik is only for the Others branch. Chick/neutral is more for the main LI paths.
Not to mention that fucking Jade in general now makes no sense considering you don't get content with Sage, Jade, and Camilla if you fuck her and tell Derek about it.
DPC did this for one purpose only. To make us constantly replay the game.

Yeah it is interesting how much of a Chick he is at the start of the game. That is why Quinns restaurant feels so out of place, especially fucking Sarah in episode 2. Just after you do that you go home to Josy and act like a Chick again and it is supposed to be a big deal that you had sex with Josy even if you banged another girl the day before.

Completely different subject: Do you think one day we'll have the whole game as a single one?
Having to open two different versions for episodes 1-8 and 9-11 is honestly quite the drag.

I doubt it and I don't like being the guy with bad news but there will be a third version for season 4. Season 1 & 2 (1-8 ), season 3 ( 9-12 ) and season 4 (13-finale ).

I knew it would be the case for the next season.
I just hope once the story is fully finished, we get like an anthology version.

Honestly, the affinity sistem is pure inconsistent idiocy. No matter how you play the game the protagonist is who he is and will act in accordance to what DPC feels like he should act at the moment. Sure, the dialogue "changes" and some options are locked out but at the end of the day it's all irrelevant. You can make all the diks choices in the world, but when he meets Zoey again he will always spills his guts regarding how hurt he was by her leaving and cutting communication with him in the same way that even a massive CHICK MC when trying to defuse the situation with Vinny will still softly threaten him "Trust me, you don't want a fight with me so don't start one" and will even regret not kicking his ass after Tommy lied to him about the fake gun.

Nowadays, I try to see the affinity system more as an act on impulse,usually for bad results(DIK) or act on rationale(CHICK).
The Cheating on the exams choice matches on this view perfectly.

DIK: The MC will either cheat on the exams using a cheat sheet he just found without thinking about possible future consequences or even if the cheat sheet is trustworthy.

NEUTRAL: The MC will choose to leave the sheet where he found it, not thinking it's worth the risk to use it.

CHICK: The MC will opt to flush the cheat sheet thinking how everyone that went to the bathroom would be in trouble if that cheat sheet where to be found or if someone discovers the cheater metod.
