Since the letter that Dawe got contained pictures that were on the laptop it means that the Betas had already had access to it before the Cathy cluck comes out because that happens in Ep4.

I don't know why so many people are on about Vinny being behind the cluck.

My guess is that Nick works together with the betas, so that Magnar knows when the laptop is on (unless it's always on, which I doubt). You would think otherwise the laptop shouldn't be on during widely known DIK party.

Also weren't those pictures hacked from the phones and the camera in the closet instead of the laptop?

For me, discussion around Vinny posting the cluck came up for one important reason. Why does Nick admit to using the laptop during the party but will not admit to posting the cluck? The Vinny reason is the best that i've heard so far even if it isn't perfect.

Yeah the laptop would need to be on to access to it, but he'd know when the laptop was on if when he'd be able to connect to it from his.

The phones and the laptop are connected on the same network for file sharing between them. The camera is a different story since we still don't know who or why it was put in the closet but since some of the stuff comes from it Magnar also has access to it.

Yeah, but unless he has some kind of software that 24/7 tries to connect with the laptop (don't know how easy it would be for him to get/create such a program), it wouldn't make any sense to try to connect to it during a DIK party unless he knows it would be on at that time.

True, but you would think he also wants to hide the Cathy picture somewhere on the laptop of the DIKs to falsify evidence that they're behind it. For that to be possible the laptop needs to be on.

I don't see how anyone can defend Nick. He accuses the boys of being jealous of MC, when it's actually him who is envious. It's quite obvious. All the other boys are cool and look up to MC in a way. People forget that this guy is best of friends with Vinny. Anyone who is close with that asshole is devious person and a villain, and cannot be trusted. I said what I said, I know some people with say "bUT tOmMy" - yes he is a giant dickhead, but his worst sin is treating his girl like trash, he never pistol whipped anyone or kidnapped some college girl.

I do agree throwing mc under the bus is an ass move but when everyone is ganging up on you and this people don't believe you when you try explaining and depending yourself and they don't believe you. He burn every single bridge there is.

No. A few weeks ago I was saying that Nick could be sending the files from the DIK laptop to Magnar as a way to get back at Tommy but hacking the laptop is also perfectly likely and makes more sense for the cluck being posted.

He didn't do anything. It's a red herring, just like Beth.

Has no one considered that it was Magnar/his crew and they didn't use the DIK laptop after all, but just hacked the DIK account? Or, since there are things like the Jade video (choice/path dependent) that get used, they remotely accessed the laptop files or something? It wouldn't take much to convince me that they managed to get a DIK to open a dodgy link that allowed them to install a key logger, or a remote access program or something (not my area of expertise at all, but these things can be done).

Leon does lose his phone for a while, and if you ask Rusty about why your new phone already has some contacts saved to it he says something about how they synced all the devices together. I don't care enough to check the actual game text but maybe the laptop was included in that.

He's clearly not aware of Vinny most heinous actions. Besides Vinny was probably not as bad in his student days, he was already a big jerk of course but most of the DIKs including Rusty & Jacob don't speak so badly about him. He probably become worse once he became a full time dealer.
