I was right. Apparently it's going to be 14 episodes. But I wouldn't be surprised if episode 12 was the final episode. Not in the sense that it will be followed by the credits, but in the sense that it will close most of the branches and the entire 4th episode will be devoted to deepening romantic ties with girls, potential pregnancy, etc.

In general, the rest is not interesting to read. This is the usual self-glorification of DPC.
Ive been saying this since episode 11 dropped, and mainly got a response of "but he promised us spring break" or "Theres still so much to tell" Now I also said the Q&A would be telling, and to be fair he told us nothing he didnt tell us last year, but the fact hes still saying he suspects season 4 will be different, IS somewhat telling. Now I dont know if he can tie everything up by episdoe 12, he probably could if he wanted to, giving himself a clean slate to go into an Epilogue/Ending season 4 - he might tie need episode 13 to do it. But the fact he suspects season 4 will be different, he just doesnt know how many episodes it will take to bring it home so to speak - tells me the main story is almost done and its the endings that are in flux

No future game planned atm
Course there is no game after this - As he said further up, once hes done, he is going back to season 1&2 to add QoL stuff and update renders, obviously once these improvements are added season 3 & 4 will look outdated so he will need to change them too. Hes going to be on this game for years to come!

I kinda admire the dickhead side of DPC. I like that he sticks to his vision and doesn't let the fans decide, otherwise we end up with rags like Our Red String.

This new interview had me chuckling quite a lot.Being a Dik, indeed.

Still, already looking forward to ep12. Save my soul.

I've been thinking that 16 episodes was too long anyway, seems like most of the major story threads will be adressed in episode 12. I think 14 sounds like a good amount imo based on where we are at currently.

And I think there will be quite a few changes to the first season and he's marketing it as essentially a remake.
There will be rather a lot more animations and scenes, there will be new mini-games, etc.
I don't think he'll be able to give up on this game, which has brought him so much money and fame.
After the remake he might do something like “10 Years Later” or a sequel where the main character will be Tremolo's son.
It all depends on how old he is now.

Absolutely, we are going to get a shelf-stacking minigame for episode one, likely some added choices here and there that won't mean anything until episode 13, though if he really wants to go all out he could perhaps try to give Josy a decent personality in the earlier episodes. The point is, he's found his Magnum Opus and he will chase perfection on that project for years to come, whereas I don't think he will ever touch the characters again outside of Being a Dik, he will find ways to milk this for more than its worth, chasing that perfection that doesn't exsit

He does have the perfect time going for him at the moment. Taking 12+ months to make an episode gives him at least another 2 years of patrons to pay him and then another like 4 years or something crazy if he decides to drag out the remake/remaster of the earlier seasons.

As long as he doesn't completely fuck the endings up he'll be coasting for a while.

That's an alternate Spock, he doesn't count. Neither does Peck, it's Nimoy or nothing ;)

Besides, I'd only genuinely get angry if he absolutely fucks up with the stupid locked room, or ruins Cinderella before things even get started.
Watch it be stuff from her OMG days or something

Is there some kind of hyper-super guide to this torture? I've really tried so many paths that even I've forgotten where I am. Yes, the one thing missing is the solo scene with Sage in episode 11, that's all I know, but that doesn't make it 100%.

As known, Season 4 will be the final season. However, Season 4 will most likely be different than earlier seasons. It's hard to say how many episodes remain, as I haven't decided how I will release the endings yet. I have some ambitious plans for all that, but it's something that will have to grow as the final season is under development. For that reason, I can't say a final count of episodes, like 13, 14, 15... As you probably can tell from episode 11, bigger and bigger questions are getting answers, and fewer new questions are being asked. That's the hallmark of bringing it all home and tying the knot on the stories. It makes me sad to say we're nearing the end of the game, but we are. So, let's savor it together and take it one episode at a time.

I don't agree with that at all. When writing this, I'm the top 29th Patreon creator on the entire platform, all categories – that's the highest I've ever been. And I just reached an all-time high in patron count, too - just 112 patrons shy of 20,000 patrons. I'm not seeing any decline in interest or a loss of faith – I'd say it's the opposite. Even though it's taken 15 months to release one episode, I've felt immense support from my patrons, with very few complaints throughout the development cycle.

I get that it's a long time to wait, but the content you get with each release matches the waiting time. Episode 11 was comparable in size to the entirety of Season 1. In terms of content, it was the biggest release for me and probably in the history of AVN.
The longer development time per episode is the result of the game reaching its end stages, and the story is branching out even more. With every episode, I need to put extra work and consideration into all the branches that I create. And even after I do that, you'll notice that not every character gets the spotlight. That's the beauty and the curse of the branching.
I won't release something I'm not happy with, and I've always been transparent about the development process. The rest of the game will take a long time to develop. Players should expect this; I don't hide that fact.
My workflow is as optimized as it gets by now, but I'm constantly looking for ways to improve the speed of everything I do. Ultimately, there's no getting around the fact that manual work is a bottleneck.
What an arrogant answer.
Player: "Why is an AVN taking longer to develop than a AAA game?
DPC: "I have over 20 000 Patreons"
Player: "It's been 3 years since the last episode and 20 years in overall development. My grandchildren are graduating college next year."
DPC: "No one has complained so far"
Player: "That's because you've banned them all."
