Beware of using mainstream mods, because - as Cazzan noted - DPC is a control freak who likes to insert some "if" clauses in his code targeting known mods. (Not that those checks can't be commented-out, but still...)
It's not a "control freak" scenario, but they got tired of wasting days if not weeks after an episode released getting "bug reports" that were due to mod issues and not the actual game.

Given how flooded this thread gets for this same issue, I completely understand why they felt it better to just implement a day one kill for mods that inevitably get patched by the mod creator, during which time all bug reports will be actual bugs in needing of fixing.

I really don't understand the current hate of freeroams. Yes, they were very annoying to navigate in the beginning. Ever since we have fasttravel however, almost all of them have been a joy to play and replay imo.
because people just want to hit the skip button until something new happens when they do the tenth playthrough i guess

Finding the kegs and the tap in the mansion may be fun the first time, then when I play for the n-th time in order to explore different branches I already know where they are and it's not fun anymore: it's just a bunch of forced clicks, a chore. a waste of time that adds nothing to the story.

Free roams break the built-in Ren'Py feature of skipping already seen text.

When I play different branches I just want to concentrate on the differences, skipping what I have already read. The point of using Ren'Py as an engine is precisely being able to take advantage of this feature.

The arrows which are invisible if not hovered mighy make the scene neater, but they aren't excellent in terms of User Experience, but I rckon this is a matter of personal tastes.

What is not a matter of tastes, but an idiotic design choice is that:
  • we are in room A and we click on a door thus accessing room B
  • in room B we click on a bacward pointing arrow and we do NOT go back to room A, because hey the camera is pointing in the opposite direction now, so the door from wich we came is the one in front of us... :WaitWhat: :FacePalm: ...how are we supposed to understand that the camera made a 180-degree turn if there's no animation showing that? We of course suppose that the camera follows the MC's point of view, and the MC is not twisting on himself...

DPC loves his free roams, very proud of them. They're like his children, and he loves to have as much branching as possible.

Have guys thought about how would it be if Badik was a 3A open world game like gta, or more suitable for Badik is Bully, Visuals wouldn't be as good as rendered images but Imagine all the thigs we could do, beating Jocks in a live combat, sneaking into Preps Mansion, our Classes unlocks new outfits and recipes just like in the bully, Imo it could be so good considering my fav game was Bully growing up. What do you guys think, would you guys want that or no? and if yes what features would you guys like to see (I know its impossible just dreaming here)

IIRC Bully was a big inspiration for the game, so that's not surprising. Would it be cool for a Being a DIK version of Bully? Fuck yeah it would :D

The game is about family, and Zoey is family. The Maya Squad is family. Everyone loves everyone. MC made that pretty clear when he ignored Sage and Jill's feelings to see Zoey, and when he texts Zoey saying he still wants to be friends after rejecting her. I'm sure the reverse will be true as well, MC will still want to be friends with whichever MG he left for Zoey.

Family family family.
The way he left Sage for Zoey, particularly if you leaked the Jade tape....there is no staying friends after that one. There is little chance everyone is staying alive after that one!
