You're trying to replace DPC posing a scene just the way he wants it and tossing it into the render queue to be rendered while he works on other things with DPC attempting to express just how he wants a scene in words, handing it off to someone else to pose, getting the first version back (either as rough poses or as the full render), writing up a bunch of corrections, handing it back, getting the second version, writing up a bunch more corrections, getting the third version, writing more corrections, etc, until he gets frustrated enough to pose the scene himself to show what he wants...

Any time someone else does something for you, they're going to inevitably make different choices than you would have (there are exceptions, but they're extremely rare) - so you either have to embrace that divergence from your own vision, or spend most of the time you supposedly saved, checking and redoing their work to make it your style rather than their imitation of your style.

While I've worked with designers and visual artists, I have not worked with an auteur. It's called being a professional. DPC is certainly not some kind of Stanley Kubrick, nor is he some great artist or animator. His skill is in his writing and quantity, not quality. Failing to work with others, and a ridiculous time frame, shows this isn't a professional project.

It's called "telling someone what he wants them to do." Or, use keyframing. Used for layouts, and animation. He can draw or set it up with dummy poses in Daz3D or Poser. I don't see why he'd need to be anal retentive on every screen, considering he's not really doing anything inherently complex for a contemporary school setting involving chairs, pools, and snow. (No explosions, magic, fancy lighting effects, etc.) Unless you think his various 2 running animations are worth $35k a month

At most, he may need to change how he touches things up in beta or QA.

And obviously, professional artists want their stuff to be lit properly and look great.

If rendering one image takes longer than two minutes...we've got problems.

Which are easily fixed:

1. Decrease Max Samples to around 2000-2500, which is how many times a pixel is sampled.
2. Set a reasonable Max Time limit. Tells the Iray engine to stop rendering (5 minutes should be more than enough).
3. Reduce Converged Ratio to 85%, which is good enough in most cases (the preview window isn't perfect anyway).
4. Enable Denoising under Render Settings, Filter, which gets rid of grainy images or surfaces (unless some scenes, you really must have Maya's ass look...like Maya's ass -- yeah...DPC needs to hire modelers.) Models aren't super high quality anyway, but I can see some people complaining about plastic skin, hair, looking like LEGOs, have skin cancer, etc.

The rest is easy
-don't use huge texture maps
-don't use complex or lots of lighting/mesh lights (just use one, or two HDRIs image files for certain background effects)
-hide non-visible objects
-disable smoothing when not needed
-Don't do 4k or anything past it (but knowing DPC he'll do 8k)
-buy a nice NVIDIA with a fat RAM size and turn on GPU rendering

Re-starting Daz helps (since it's a memory hog/leak), as does doing things in Interactive Mode, but I haven't measured it.

You're assuming paid artists don't know what they're doing, when we already know they're better than DPC (they might even use Blender). Considering he's using interchangeable base Daz3D models and assets, what's the problem? Hell they're probably do it better. We're talking about rendering a screen, or series of screens, for at least one scene. Animation would obviously involve a lot more consultation until everything is finalized for rendering. And any animator can see when his stuff looks bad.

1. I said YES. We've been introduced to the Party Planning minigame, and now that Nick is gone (and that the Christmas Panty party has bad RNG) we should have at least one more.
2. I put NO. DPC said that Being a DIK will need at least 14 episodes, yet there'll be around 15-17 to wrap up the story. If Ep 14 is the final, I get the feeling that it will be rushed, rather than there being ulterior motives by default.
3. YES. Now that Sage and Jill are getting closer and closer, maybe she'll use some tricks on her to convince her. Bella is her mentor but I don't quite see it in the near future. Maya and/or Josy, on the other hand, maybe depends on getting the contracts? tl;dr, it's Jill.

I feel your disappointment and appreciate your cautious optimism. Beyond that… wut? What are you trying to tell us?
Are you simply saying you think DPC will drag things out as long as he can or that you have hopes for more lewd with those girls you mentioned? Or both?
And, yes, DPC is taking a lot of time for disappointing reasons and no, that is not likely to change. We surely will all wait longer than we like and many of us will probably continue to be disappointed for one reason or another. Too many expectations and DPC has proven it’s all in his own hands. It’s his baby. For better or for worse.
