It will be even worse if MC has the guts to say that he accepted the relationship before even breaking up first (if Zoey doesn't say it).

However, these are two different situations. Neil is very “conservative” when it comes to trouples, as most parents would be. He would probably have been the same with Bella.

But faced with the fact that his son introduced him to his girlfriend and then left her for someone else a few days later... well, that's life. Besides, he knows Zoey, so she wouldn't exactly be the first one to come along.
