Cathy no doubt was lenient because it is in her nature, but why would Stephen side with her? Clearly he had ulterior motives and put Chad in a leash for some reason. Cathy's behaviour made it less suspicious just as Sage's later request gave him an excuse to put Chad back into the tri-alpha fraternity. Stephen has his own hidden motives here. Or someone he takes orders from does.

with:

Does he simply mean that he didn't have a choice because the other Alphas wouldn't accept him being gay or is there something else there?

Im sure its nothing that we already know. Right now, Chad is paranoid about his secret with Troy. Remember that the Jocks don't accept homosexuality (Pointing towards Dawe and a few other Jocks) and his ambition seems to lie with bodybuilding or some sort of that profession.

So chad here is admitting that he has accepted being blackmailed and it will continue because he doesn't know how many people know his secret or how many are involved in this operation. Which makes sense to immobilize the jocks strongest individual who has a some sort of perception to understand their surroundings.

The thing ends with Sage is usually referring to getting close with Sage and getting her number, something that happens on every run so he doesn't "care" that you are dating her or not.

I liked Roger-a-Dale idea that Stephen is pulling some strings to manipulate Chad and this connects to the aftermath of the fight.

I'm doing my "piece of shit" run where I share the sex tape on a Sage run, and thought I might as well go full hog: be a dick and avoid RP wherever possible, fail tests and the mansion minigame, don't tell Sage about Chad, etc. Not a new idea, but it's new for me.
