If you're coming back to Being a DIK after two years hoping for a significant evolution in the plot—for the MC to truly drive the story instead of just being a spectator, and to be drawn into a deeply engaging narrative—then no, you might be disappointed. But if you're here for more of the same, just with a lot more content and without demanding major plot advancements, then yes, it's worth it.

I do kind of like some realism in relationships, but now that it has defined relationships, we are now in a relationship and we should be exclusive, the massive number of times the main character is thrust into a situation where he (ME THE PLAYER) can have fun but now has to be a dirty rotten CHEATER instead of a fun loving playing the field lover boy to have the fun has basically ruined it. Yeah, the multi-mod alleviates most of that trash on limiting love interests and if, like I said, I wanted to be a scummy person, that would give me the number of sex scenes that makes it fun, but again, you have to be a cheater at heart to go there and enjoy it.

Anyways, the first 2 seasons were awesome. The girls are amazing. Josy, Bella, Maya, Zoey and a less slutty Camilla would be my dream 5 woman harem in this story. Cathy could have been a nice to have add on, but the game quickly made it her or Bella and Bella is by far much better. Jill is not too bad, but the face is too round for my tastes, so I would back burner her for someone else like Camilla if she was a real love interest. Sage is a slut and not really my type, definitely would back burner her for Zoey in a heartbeat.

I am not a paying customer, I am not the developer. So, my opinion is just that, an opinion. The game is obviously popular and maybe I am not even a minority in my views...

But, if it were up to me I would have looked at this more as a marathon like college is, 4 years, 1460 days of opportunity to get to where you are going to join the real world, and made that entire time as open and wild as possible with the relationships finally materializing into solid dating at the end, and basically a harem up until then. Although, for the happily ever after ending, in the last year he would have become super rich, and the Harem would continue infinitely.

So far we have gone through at most 68 days to get to the midterms and the main character pretty much was already asked to lock his love interest in. 5% of the college time. It seems to me that the story lines are all going to play out in less than a full year of classes and 90% of the main character's time is going to be burned playing stupid mini games, helping women who at the end of the day have no meaning to anything, and going through massive amounts of drama that have no real impact on the main character's life or future. And that assumes going with Josy and Maya as the love interest. It gets worse if you picked any of the others as your final love interest.

Anyways, that is my two cents, not that it matters. But if the game returns to the more fun loving non judgementalism of the first 2 seasons, hopefully I find out about it and can pick it back up later. It really is great work, but the style changed and the 'committed relationship' with the fun hidden behind the 'cheater' element is not something I can enjoy.

I'm sort of mostly in agreement with you here. S3 has been pretty boring considering all the added opportunities that are presented to us. Locking us into a committed relationship in ep 8 sucked. It's also not very realistic. Like you said, we're talking about being tied down to one girl, before Halloween which is what, 2 months after the start of freshman year of college? Boring.

I did like the party. I thought the entire episode being the Halloween party was meh. I thought Ep 11 delivered pretty good but again, limited choices based on affinity. If Melanie wants a break from unpacking Christmas decorations and wants some DIK, we should be allowed to give it to her. If we're a cheater, we're a cheater. If it's so important, add consequences to it. Like if we're on the Josy and Maya path and we mess with Lily, we run the risk of them finding out and we deal with it. That would seem more fun than having options grayed out because we're not the right affinity.

And yes, 100% the minigames are garbage. So are some the long ass conversations that, like you said, don't really lead anywhere meaningful. I also am not a fan of the whole fight club thing either. Make it a choice, not a forced aspect of the storyline. Why do we have to go see the dude in the gym and fight Troy and play a much more complicated version of brawler, etc. If DPC did away with some of those nonsense things, I bet updates would come out a bit faster. Instead of waiting a year and a half for a Christmas concert and New Year's Eve party, and the Bella reveal, maybe we'd get updates every 6 months without all the nonsense minigames and long drawn conversations.
