I've been writing dialogue for the big free roam event every single day this week. I thought I would be able to complete the dialogue and start working on art, but there's been too much to write about. And the free roam event grew as I wrote, and I included more scenes. Who would have thought that would happen?

It's tough to give you a picture of how much writing there is for this free roam event. Comparing the calls to images in the code with that of the Christmas party in episode 11, I estimate the writing would need ~2900 renders at the moment, making it roughly 30% bigger. But I'm not done with it yet. I'm getting close, though. As you can see, this event will be a major part of the episode.

I have written 76 events out of 82 planned - event count isn't set in stone -, meaning I'm 90-95% done with the dialogue for the free roam event.

I haven't written any code for the free roam event navigation yet, but that's fun and fast to code. I'll knock that out in 1-2 days of work alongside making the art for the environment renders.

This morning, I only had 10 animations in the render queue. So, today I pushed the stop button on writing dialogue mid-flow and started posing animations. I will pose animations to increase the queue a bit, then I will write the rest of the events and go back and forth to create the art. With the environments, characters, and dialogue done, posing the free roam event will be straightforward.

During my years on Patreon, I've had many polls, but none as close as the one that ended today. In fact, it had a different outcome yesterday, and this morning, only 14 votes separated two of the options (a patron in the $30 tier has 11 votes, with the voting power that comes with the tiers accounted for).

When the poll ended, the difference between options 1 and 3 was less than 1%, with option 3 in a marginal favor. For the first time ever, I have decided to include two winning poll options in episode 12. Hopefully, that pleases the vast majority of you. You'll discover how it's implemented when you play.

I'm happy about that. I think dress 3 makes sense when you aren't on the Maya path, but when you are and she is discovering her kink for doing it in public I think wearing somethings more revealing makes sense. Of course he could do the stupid shit he did with banana Jill and invert it so who knows?

Huh... funny thing... so the christmas panty party in ep 11 had roughly 2100 renders? To be honest... i didnt found it that big. Yeah sure, the Halloween Party put aside, the christmas party was the "biggest" so far. But 2100 renders for that free roram event is rouhgly 1/4 of the whole episode 11. Did not felt like that, not at all. Though i admit, every playthrough felt entirely different with the party, which was great.... there were a shit ton of branches in it.

Well, whatever...

I still cant make up my mind what this big free roam will be about. If it gets nearly 3k renders, i have a hard time thinking that it will be the event where Jill will play (and the MC if you decide to do so)... Its an event where only those will attend who are invited... so basically, most DIKs and HOTs will not be there... A event that big with maybe 70% of the important people out of this game not in it? Nope, not happening.

New Years Eve seems to be it... that would fit i guess. But man.... there has to be A LOT in this episode... i mean, that was clear anyways, that it will bigger than ep11 and has to conclude so much.... but i kinda underestimated how big it will get. EP11 got 7k renders, with new years eve, christmas dinner and fallout, christmas with maybe the girlfriends, Neil and/or some other parents, the fighting torunament, the music thingy, the whole magnar plot, Rio, overall season finale to transition into the last season... oh boy...

If this one free roam event will take roughly 3k renders... the whole episode will be close to 10k.

I've been assuming that Chad and Sage got together at least partly by default - Tri-Alpha and HOTs presidents being a natural couple like quarterback and head cheerleader, so they'd need a reason to not date, rather than needing reasons to date each other.

Are you kidding? Option 1 is still an awful dress whether on or off path because it's just way too much for her no matter where she in her personal development. Option 3 much better suits her across the board because it's much more her style.

I don't think so because if he was always going to have her have 2 outfits depending on path then why have a poll at all? He just would have had her wear both and we'd only see it when the ep drops. He also didn't seem to suggest this is whay it will now be because he talked the estimated rende counts before talking about the poll results and didn't even seem to hint at this being a cause of why there will so many.

The event is almost certainly a NYE party due to its size and the Maya pool outfits point to it.

Plus, season 3 has been the party organization season so the last update won't break the form not featuring a party.

About it's size, it will be no doubt huge, I am quite sure it will easily surpass the 3K statics mark and perhaps even reach 3100 or 3200 renders.

However, I believe it won't be the biggest one ever since Halloween was most of EP 9 content and that update was around 5000 renders.

It's difficult to guess how big 12 will be, but the last updates increased over the last one by around 20%.

If this pattern is kept the update should be just about 9K renders with the party being around a full third of it, perhaps even a bit more.

Either way, a true behemoth awaits!

Hey everyone! I haven't played since 0.6 or 0.7 (I think). The last things I remember are a threesome with Quinn and Sage so beautiful it made me weep and discovering that Jade is Sage's adoptive mother right at the end of an episode.

While I can imagine the render and line count has been enormous (and I've been letting it 'build' so to speak) I'm interested in getting back into the game when I have some free time. I'm wondering how you guys deal with FOMO. As in, when you play one route, but know there's content on another that you won't see that playthrough.

While I have spare time, and am willing to devote some to playing the game, seeing everything at once is my preferred method and I'd rather not make five or six save games I have to juggle. At one point there was (kind of) a mod where you could adjust variables and "kinda" do both playthroughs at once, but I imagine it has since become defunct.

I'd love to know your guys' strategies to seeing as much as you can of this beautiful game.

Sorry, last question:but last time I played it felt like it was (realistically) the update which locked you into a DIK or CHICK path. Did a new decision-making slider ever appear, or would I eventually get stuck being only one or the other, or stuck somewhere in the middle?

Well put it this way, he says this freeroam is already expected to be roughly 2900 renders but that could rise and we know from previous status updates that he's worked on content that amounted to 1000-1300 renders, another 600 renders for other scenes, more scenes amounting to 350 renders, another 180, 350, and an undisclosed number amounting to "a few hundred", in his words. So he's already sitting at around 5680 just based on the numbers he's quoted and in the middle of last month he estimated that the total amount of renders for the episode were "around 45-50%" and this was before the announcement of these freeroam renders. Given that there's probably a lot of renders we don't have the numbers for, we could be looking at 8k+ for Ep 12.

To put that in context, Ep 9 was 5037, Ep 10 was 5868, and Ep 11was 7113. So he's at 5680 already based on known render counts and he's not even nearly done.
