I think Melanie has a tendency to become one of the main LIs. According to the hints from the last 11th episode, it is quite likely that she will be one of the LIs in future updates of the game. Moreover, there is still the last final 4 season of the game, so we will see how it will eventually develop.
It always takes the dev about a year to update the game, so you'll have to wait a while...
