What I'm wondering, and it's a valid question, is whether there are two different New Year's Eve parties.

It's going to be the same one in the same building with different rooms. That's essentially how DPC is describing it and it makes no sense for it not to be.

Therefore, it's possible for there to be two New Year's Eve parties, but the MC player can only attend one.

DPC has literally described this as one massive freeroam. If it was 2 parties that would be 2 separate freeroams, but since that is not how it's being described, that's not how it's going to be.

I much prefer the smaller New Year's Eve party with family, friends, and the LIs.

You're not getting that. It's going to be a big party with 87 people across multiple environments all in the same place.

The only thing missing are the animations.

Did DPC reveal something here?

The MC is wearing the same shirt in the trailer as in the preview with Maya. However, the locations are different. One of them is definitely a gym, judging by the markings on the floor. A gym has locker rooms and showers, but not facilities like the one in the Maya preview.

I'm wondering if there are two different New Year's Eve parties. One with the Alphas and many HOTs (Others Branch), and another with the LIs (LI Branches) at a different location.

If the MC wins the fighting tournament, he'll be highly regarded by the Alphas and will probably be allowed to celebrate New Year's Eve with them at the gym. But if the MC doesn't participate in the fighting tournament and plays guitar at the college Christmas party, he might meet some important people. Philip already hinted at this, suggesting the party would be a good opportunity to meet people. What if Geoff invites the MC and some of his friends to a New Year's Eve party?

i would say that josy is more like a chihuahua.

Chihuahuas own up to being small. Josy has a complex about her height. She's a Terrier. Not necessarily a Jack Russel, but a Terrier.

I have an aunt who has a dog that's a Jack Russell and Chihuahua mix, 2 of the most annoying dogs in one annoying, shivering, yipping, and bug-eyed package. Only need to get poodle in there and it would be the trifecta.

The Alphas want the HOTs, and the DIKs want the HOTs, so there's one New Year's Eve party for the Alphas and one for the DIKs. Everything takes place in one large building. Alphas and DIKs celebrate their parties separately, but in the same building. This way, the HOTs can be at two parties at the same time. In the short trailer, we see the Alphas' New Year's Eve party. Large room, but few people. With the DIKs, it's exactly the opposite. Smaller room, lots of people. The DIKs are at it again with the Alphas.

"Smoke and fire." The Alpha party is a bit smoky, and the DIK party is on fire.

1. Arieth is indeed pregnant and she got something right for the first time ever.
2. Chad is in the party which means nothing for the Magnar plot itself, but he is there.
3. Sarah, for the life of her, can't pull a dress like that.
4. Melanie only needed to put her hair behind her ear to start looking beautiful for once. No, I don't mind her stupid crown.
5. Is it just me, or does the court look small? Like, who knows how big the basketball team's budget is or how successful it's been, but that bleacher is minuscule

Yes, but Chad is not invited to this party. Even the MC himself wouldn't be invited if he couldn't play the guitar properly. The professor himself said who was invited to the party and didn't mention Chad at all. After all, Chad can't play any musical instrument, isn't rich, and isn't a member of the school staff, so that alone explains why he's not among the invitees to the official Christmas party.

Man says he "gets it" then proceeds to show he still doesn't get it

The obvious compromise isn't 2 separate parties in the same building in different rooms, the compromise is one party where both the Jocks and DIKs will be in attendance along with the HOTs and everyone else who want to come along. It'll be that way because the pics the Jocks just recieved at the end Ep 11 will necessitate something like this to try and mend fences rather than have them fight over who gets the HOTs. Separate parties even in the same location would mean they're still fighting over them if they fell they're spending too much time with one group.

The fact that both the MC and Chad are in the same room practically confirms this is one party for both groups, because if it were 2 separate parties where only the HOTs and others are milling about but he DIKS and Jocks stay in their areas, then they wouldn't be in the same room, would they? Because by your logic they would be keeping away from each other which they clearly aren't here. And no, this wouldn't some "reward" for the MC winning the fighting tournament that he gets to be in the same room as the Jocks because that's just plain silly

4K renders, he is doing a job for 4.83% of gamer audience according to Steam statistics who have 4K monitors.
2K would be enough, it is more mainstream now with 20% of users, 4K is still for the elites. But DPC being DPC.
