I don't have any idea what has happened here, to be fair, but I miss the game so much
Is this comment allowed by the way, or should I write an essay about this game and ask a question that's been asked 2000 times?
I'll take a precaution just in case, maybe this comment will be flagged off topic and lead me to be banned, who knows. We have to be serious here after all.
Are there any previews of Season 2 yet? I am curious about what will happen in season 2.

Played Acting Lessons before and then i noticed DPC released a new game (Being a DIK) around a year ago, so i waited for a couple of updates to try it in order for my first experience to be with a good amount of content.

From the moment i double-cliked on the game .EXE, the intro with Jill when you open the game for the first, the music, the images, i said to myself "damm the production for this game went to another fucking level".

But i was naive and tought to myself "theres no way the same developer can create another masterpiece on the same level as Acting Lessons, so fast, only as his second game", boy was i wrong...

Both Acting Lessons and BADIK are flawless masterpieces and i wont say that one is better than the other, because they are very diferent from one another, and im not saying they are masterpieces as lewd/porn games or whatever the fuck you want to categorize them, but as GAMES IN GENERAL.

The game presents us with amazing and very well writen characters but my two favourites are without a doubt Quinn and Derek, but i wont go too much in detail about my opinion or predictions about them because i dont want to spoil anyone.

Always loved "Bad girls" and according to my tastes she looks amazing, so Quinn was love at first sight.

And then theres Derek, who wouldnt want to have a bro like this guy or Liam from AL in his real life??? i laughed so much with the things he says, his expressions, his pranks, everything about him. I remember last evening while playing this i went to the window for a smoke break and there i was laughing while remembering the car wash scene with him, until i noticed my neighbour looking at me with a WTF face probably thinking "this guy should be locked in an asylum".

In my honest opinion, DPC is not a talented developer, he is a fucking GENIUS of a developer.

I believe that the problem lay in the fact that both told you beforehand about their relationship, regardless of the fact that they still pursuit something with MC. If you are only with one of them and then the situation of their relationship is revealed, you are the problematic party because she cheated with you, and the right thing to do is not mention it and part ways, at least that fit MC personality.
Even if somehow you mention it, you may end their relationship or not, that will end badly for you because you're no longer to be trusted and that's a shitty move to start a relationship.

So that's why you have to go with both, because "both told you beforehand about their relationship", I know that seems a little farfetched but we have to trust DPC good writing, and to be honest, that totally make sense.

But it is mentioned when the three of them lay their cards on the table. At least in my main playthrough they talked about what the protagonist did with Josy and later with Maya. So witholding information from Maya or Josy never happened to me, but can't say if this is possible with other variables (my protagonist had a neutral Major choices bar).

Anyway, i find it unlikely (despite my hopes) there will be other chance to restart a romance with one of them if you parted ways. Maybe if it was on friendly terms ( chick or neutral) but still hard to believe.

It is okay, i the end all the character development for Jade, Quinn and Sage was great in this episode.

It is a bit more explicit with Josy since the game story makes you go back home to see her again. But you could more or less ignore either of them until episode 4.

I suppose that is my main, and only, gripe with the game since I feel like it takes the story driving form the player hands at the start of the episode to force a polyamory relationship.

But yeah i suppose we are going to see some way to choose just one of them in future updates. Lets just hope it doesn't involve fire...

Sorry to barge in the conversation between the both of you, my intention is not to bring confusion to the table but i only want to give my point of view about the story, and i'll try not to go in much detail in order to avoid spoilers for anyone.

I've played this game on DIK, neutral and chick path, and on all 3 paths, up until the end of season 1 the love triangle between MC, Josy and Maya is always there, only the events between these 3 characters may vary depending on choices/path.

I wouldnt look at it as characters being "forced" into you, its just scripted to happen this way because its an indispensible body or part of the main story, and it doesn't affect only these 3 characters, but also others around them like Derek for example, or the behavior of the HOT's torwards the MC since Maya pledged to them just to name a few, and this wasn't possible if you could simply avoid any content of these characters like you can do in some other games.

Depending on your choices or path, at a certain point (at the library in the end of season 1) you can decide what kind of relationship you want to have with both Maya an Josy (Love relationship is not possible if you are in DIK path i think), and thats why i think that this love triangle needed to be in the game as part of the main story in order to define at the start of the second season what kind of route you will take, and since im not Nostradamus and can't predict the future or what goes inside DPC head, i think that from this point on in the game we will have an amount of content (more or less) with Josy and Maya depending on the kind of relationship we have chosen.

I mean, heartbreak seems inevitable. But that's not potent enough. You have to see someone you care about die and feel like your heart got ripped out of your chest for it to be a real DPC production! I mean, judging by all his prior games... (Okay, so there's only one game. But still!)

Riona looks like a mess, Quinn's going to hurt someone and/or be hurt, and we've already gotten foreshadowing with Isabella (which is like a huge "don't pursue this path" sign, but I doubt that's deterring anyone).

Dude i realy agree with you on some points, and i realy do think that something realy big is going to happen probably much sooner than we expect.

I got my eye on Tybalt since the beginning, and im expecting that rich prick to do something that will screw things over regarding to Jill, and thats probably when we are going to get to know about her Family/past, wich will also imply Isabella and MC at least.

Its almost impossible not to follow Isabella's path, i mean, just look at her...

Riona is a bit of an enigma to me still, she is being presented to us like a puppet, but i think that she is not what it seems and will have a major impact on the story at a certain point. How? i have my theories but i prefer not to say it here.

I also tought about someone not being realy a student but instead something on the likes of an "infiltrated agent" to investigate the drug and/or the prostitution business going on, or simply just a person with a personnal vendetta torwards any of the characters or the families behind the foundation of the universaty, or any other kind of motive.

Also i think that Chad is cheating on Sage not with a girl, but with a dude... ye i think he is gay, hmm... that guy from the supermarket, the son of the owner, Steve was it his name?

I believe we haven't seen the last of Troy, i found his behavior a bit strange right from the beginning, demanding to be alone, ye i get it that you might not want to share a room with someone else, but still... and we still dont know why he isn't part of the jocks anymore.

I just hope nothing bad happens to Quinn, she is my number 1 girl, we will manage to turn her into a sweet girl you see.

But anyway this is probably me just thinking more than i should.

Totally, it is scripted and "forced" sound a bit too harsh but I guess the true results of actually avoiding or not helping them will be shown in the future, like not telling Maya about Quinn for example. I said forced because I hate Maya.

In his very basic form, the alignment of the game goes like this: DIK = Party / Sex / Fights and CHICK = Romance / Love (that also includes sex but you get it), something like that, and I'm being too basic about it. Good guy vs Bad guy basically (Bad doesn't mean evil)

Josy and Maya are considered LI (Love Interest) and in this case, you want a relationship with them, or one, I don't know and you going after that in a romantic way, not as a dik just trying to get laid, at least this is the case, for now, maybe it shape in something else in the future.

You realize that even without putting out an update every month he still makes a lot of dough so he doesn't need monthly updates cuz of that, rest assure that if he didn't had this kind of support he would've hired someone to help him out for faster releases or the game would've been abandoned...
