Yeah, it seems like Sage was intended to be more of a "bad girl" in Episode 1 ("This girl seems like trouble...I like trouble.") and DPC made the change to flesh her out more, to the point that she probably has the most depth of the five LIs, and shifted her 'submissive' personality traits onto Heather.
